I think about "Plagiarism and You(Tube)" sometimes. I think it's a shame that it wasn't particularly effective on what it set out to do. It therefore ended up as just another drama video, at best it reminded people that plagiarism is bad, but seemingly only very direct plagiarism. (1/13)

I really, genuinely wrote off Golden Sun as a game that I loved mostly because I was really young when I played it but there are things that the original two titles did that modern games could really benefit from learning. Genuine gem of a duology.

It's kind of why Golden Sun can survive having pretty lukewarm character development. It's always been about its setting, its philosophy, it's bigger thematic ambitions, over your party being uniquely special people. One of them is the main villain's sister and that basically just doesn't matter.

I wrote an entire traditional essay I'll find a place to publish it to later about this, but it is a pretty consistent thing in TLA. The world is so vast and deep and nuanced and you get to see so little of it, and I can't think of many games these days with that kind of discipline.

While I'm still stuck Golden Sun posting, I am kind of obsessed with how much The Lost Age declines to resolve subplots in it. The plot itself is pretty adequately put together but it really just lets you explore parts of the places and stories your journey intersects with and lets them linger after
