Read this by Sheila Hancock on VE Day:
“Because I now deeply fear the dangerous signs of history repeating itself, I want everyone to remember that war is terrible. On VE Day 1945, the world was looking at the complete destruction of many cities, some by us.”

Black background with white text reading “a remind: one third of trans people have faced homelessness in their life time. 29% of trans people currently live in poverty in the U.K.”Below this is blue text reading “Whilst celebrating our success and history is nice, the reality is a lot of us are struggling and the political landscape is terrifying - use today to learn what your local community needs and put actions in place to meet them.” [end alt]
Happy trans day of visibility, please support your local transition funds, grass roots programs and listen to your local community!
I read On the Side of Angels back in May & it has a really comprehensive history of lesbian activism in the 70s and 80s that has my brain is bouncing around my skull in excitement

The Stonewall Inn and The Stonewall Inn Gives Back Initiative are outraged and appalled by the recent removal of the word 'transgender' from the Stonewall National Monument page on the National Park Service website. This blatant act of erasure not only distorts the truth of our history, but it also dishonors the immense contributions of transgender individuals - especially transgender women of color - who were at the forefront of the Stonewall Riots and the broader fight for LGBTQ+ rights. SIGBI followed by a next arrow

The Stonewall Inn released a response to the National Parks Service removing the word transgender from the park outside of the Inn. A great reminder that we have to look after each other
Butch as a specifically lesbian identity means a lot to me! It gives me a place to celebrate my queerness, words to explain my experiences and is full of joy and I genuinely want to see more butches in media and in academia and politics and visible in my life
I have many criticisms of the fact we could have had a bigger push for diversity but I’ll take the masc smooching today please I am desperate for any kind of media
Thank you Lucy Dacus for having masc4masc kissing I needed that this week 💕

My new morning routine after coffee is to write to my representative and my Senators. 🇺🇸
So, a quick reminder ...
One of my currently favourite trans/trans legislation theory papers is ‘Transness as insecurity’ by Darcy Leigh and I have many thoughts about the contradictory stances politicians take in their rhetoric about the ‘threat’ of trans identity
I’m not good at short form posting but I’m currently reading journal articles dissecting gender as a racialised issue (and a form of white dominance + control) and have so many thoughts about this!!!
as people come here to hang out with us instead of on ig just a reminder of the details of our next social:
Goldie’s Saloon - 10 Andre Street, Lower Clapton, E8 2AA

I know everybody wants to punch nazis but if you're behind that sentiment then also please do the less dramatic/exciting work of supporting your local communities. Drive, cook, clean, help, set up, show up, make noise. Wear a mask. It's not one person that's gonna save us, it's all of us together.
A thought that hasn't left my mind for a while now: Did we all watch all the same WW2 movies because there was clearly an enemy and it seems a lot of people's idea of the bad guy did not allign with the actual villains but instead they were...idolizing them?
Please don’t post on social media about who you know to be an immigrant or anyone you know who has birthright citizenship. Don’t even post that you know anyone who is even if you are being vague about it. This is just a gut feeling I have but I imagine that could be used against people very fast
If people continue to platform fascists I will start blocking and reporting idgaf
His gender is so queer that I cannot explain my feelings for this man in a normal way it’s the way he interacts with the other characters and describes his experience with attraction in like at yes this is an aroace he/him dyke and am 100% projecting because I like his character
Sometimes I too wish to fuse my soul with my best friend and become a bigender lesbian
I only have one friend who has read tlt and I need to talk about Palamedes as one of the most interesting example of masculinity in modern queer fiction
