The thing with ICCUs is the miles don’t seem to correlate to when they blow. I have seen multiple Ioniqs in forums that have 100K+ miles on them and they never had an issue. Seem to just be luck. I understand what you are saying through. If I was in your spot I couldn’t gamble either.

@hyundaiusa.com This is a good first step but until you come out and say that the ICCU has been redesigned from the ground up you are not doing enough. I will likely be getting an Ioniq 5 or 9 after my 6 lease is up because I love it so much. Potential ICCU issues give me pause through.

Miles doesn’t seem like the main culprit. I have heard of them dying at radically different times. It seems to do with just luck than anything else.

My parents have a Mach E and I have Ioniq 6. Even with potential ICCU issues, mine blew after 1.5 years and less than 10K miles, I would still pick it over the Mach E. The Mach E is a nice car but it doesn’t feel nearly as good to dive as my Ioniq 6. Plus the charging is amazing!

Your response makes no sense. Smartphone batteries used to be hard to replace in the late 2010s/ early 2020s. Now they are as easy as popping open the phone and connecting the new battery. I do them for my friends all the time. These requirements will make batteries smaller and more expensive.

I feel like John might be referencing their smart glasses. Which I think will one day replace the smartphones. I don’t see smartphones being mainstream past the 2040s. People didn’t like adopting smartphones either, tech also progresses whether people want to or not.
