I can imagine such a standoff. Councillors in Dublin complaining of no budget while the CEO signs up to move Civic Offices to a new site with practically no oversight.

Appreciate that, many thanks.
I admit that while I am aware that there were issues in Limerick, I'm not up to speed on the what's and why's.
Is there any reading you'd recommend?
How about having a directly elected Mayor head this up, rather than a secretary general from the civil service?
The same body will be chaired by the CEO of An Post. What civil society involvement will there be?
I'm a rugby fan and have been considering a new Leinster jersey. I won't be buying one while they're still made by Castore.

Astronaut material right there.
If the AMOC collapses it will be a climate disaster to end all climate disasters, for Ireland especially.
It was one of those 'low probability, high impact' events, like ice sheet collapse in Antarctica.
Turns out it isn't low probability after all.
I'm just waiting for some posts from an account called 'Concerned Griftie'
Great win for Toulon in Glasgow. Off to Lansdowne shortly where #Leinster will now be playing for a home Semi-final.

There's something about his unbridled joy that's so endearing.
I have a feeling that Opoku-Fordjour is going to be a thorn in Irish sides for the next 10 years.
He looked scarily good at U20 level.
I remember going to a special Dublin Film Festival 70mm screening of that in the Savoy 30+ years ago.
Michael Dwyer was the MC and was very apologetic that he could only source a French dub of the film in that format.
But, as he said, nobody watches this for the dialogue.
Maybe they heard TACO and are having Tacos. It is Tuesday after all
I worked close to that when it was being built, but moved elsewhere around the time work stopped.
I am always surprised that it's been left like that for 20 years.
Tense standoff continues. The hunter is ignoring packaged food in the hope of a warm-blooded meal.
One of the humans in the house has an aversion to mice, and is making sure there are at least two closed doors between them and the kitchen.
Well, I thought it was going to play out like a Tom & Jerry cartoon when one of the cats caught a mouse outside and let it loose in the kitchen.
The poor mouse is now hiding somewhere behind the washing machine waiting for the cat to get bored and wander off before (hopefully) making an escape.
Especially when the AI content is trained on Wikipedia plus a sprinkling of artisan rubbish from Reddit and Quora.
I'm reminded of this classic from @damienowens.bsky.social
The fit-out is in progress. They're reconfiguring a bit, plus a focus on the kitchen. I've heard that it's a few weeks from opening. Was supposed to be for Easter, but looking more like the May bank holiday at this point.
And Drop Dead Twice reopened last month too.
Former Underdog and Former Christchurch Inn on the cards and Former 57 The Headline already open this year?
Two photos of the mural of famous figures outside the Vicar St venue in Dublin. In the upper image there is a Trump shaped gap between Mother Theresa and Bono. In the lower image the gap has been filled with Ms Piggy from The Muppets looking fabulous in a pink dress.
I was glad to see the Trump caricature roughly erased outside Vicar St a few months back.
The replacement is perfect.
Ah well...
