If you're in the NYC area or are planning to visit, you have until Feb 1 to catch a performance before it closes. Go!

Based on the audible sniffling from all corners of the theater, I was not alone. A powerful scene regardless of your experience but if you've lost a parent, it's particularly relevant. Together we tapped into grief, longing, envy and vicarious comfort, among other things. It was palpable. I felt it.
There's one scene in the play that gets a lot of attention but, for me, there's another that had my emotions locked in an intense battle with my Scottish-Irish reserve. The latter prevented all-out sobbing but my emotions still had their say in the form of quiet flowing tears.
Two Playbills from the Broadway show, Liberation, and a coupon card.
Saw Liberation on Broadway last night and wow. Haven't had a theater-going experience like that in a long time. It resonates on many levels for a variety of reasons, a lot still maddeningly relevant. The structure threw me for a minor loop at first but then I quickly locked in and never let go.
While I’m certainly not happy to be unemployed at the moment, I can’t say I’m sad about missing all the “circling back” and “hitting the ground running” that is happening in workplaces today.
My sympathies to to anyone affected by the resolutions and exhausting enthusiasm of others this week.
Broken Flinstones-themed ornament
A rather gruesome discovery when unpacking the Christmas ornaments this year.
Fear not, Betty Rubbles’ severed head (now there’s a phrase I sincerely never thought I’d ever write) has been reinstated. I, on the other hand, am admittedly still scarred.
The absolute worst. I would consider moving to his district just to vote for the candidate who primaries him.
Close up of light brown dog
Spotify suggested that I’m 74 years old. Granted, there’s a fair amount of Joni Mitchell in the mix but I think the culprit is the ambient “Calm My Dog” station we put on for Coco (pictured) when we leave the house. In reverse dog years that makes me about 11, I guess? #SpotifyWrapped #DogsofBluesky
I don't know that I know why exactly #GothamFC was scream singing "Feliz Navidad" post victory but that matters not. It was glorious and I'm watching it and all the celebrations on repeat.
Go Bats!! #NWSL

Might have to boot my kids and make this my home screen wallpaper. #GothamFC
I despaired and doubted my team I admit. I know it hurts for KC but I love that the end of the season is no longer a foregone conclusion. Seemed sewn up for so long. Naturally, I want Gotham to win it all but, if not, will savor today for a long time. Needed that! #GothamFC #NWSL
Hours later and I’m still stunned that Gotham FC made it through. They toppled the giant! I was hoping against hope for an upset this weekend and man, did they provide. But what a roller coaster. That familiar heartbreak of them conceding a stoppage time goal and then the elation of the game winner.
I'm not the praying type (unless you count the "Jesus Christ, Freida!" I just uttered when reading this update) but I will dust off my long-dormant skills for Dolly Parton. She exemplifies all that is good and kind and we need that more than ever.
Perfectly put. What a loss! I will be reading every tribute to him for the foreseeable future. RIP Robert Redford.
Well now that that’s sorted, I’ll be rooting for utter mayhem in the rest of this weekend’s matches. #GothamFC #NWSL
This one really hurts!!
The Sound and the Strongly Worded Letter
It’s also giving off some serious Tr*mp mugshot vibes. #caturday
Missing cat poster with photo of scowling orange cat
This cat sort of looks like it doesn’t want to be found.
I love this so much. And I was very mealy-mouthed when trying to articulate the really amazing-sounding thoughts in my head. Still happens to this day. Curse that disconnect!
What timing! I went on a R.E.M. kick just last night and rediscovered my love of "Untitled" from Green. It's an absolute gem. youtu.be/KA2n60NoOwY?...
“Bless me Father for I have sinned. It’s been… um.. 30 years since my last confession?
I laughed out loud at many Rudy Giuliani skeets. Like, really laughed out loud. Guffawed may be more accurate actually.
For these and all my sins, I’m really not all that sorry. Fuck this guy. Seriously. Amen.”
Happy Cursing Out Operoo/Konstella/Other School Apps Season to all who celebrate. I refrained from typing "Fuck off" in an AI chat that I kept accidentally launching because the button kept covering the Save button. I shouldn't be proud of my restraint here, but small victories and all that.
Same. Walmart shrimp is a phrase I really didn't need knocking around in my brain.
Not to toot my own horn but I didn't need an FDA warning to avoid shrimp from Walmart.

Yes! Also things like t“cheesed off” and “No, flip you!”
And the ridiculous abrupt edits! I distinctly remember the chopped-up scene in “Stand by Me” with the crowd chanting, “Lard… Lard… Lard… Lard…” So distracting and absurd.
