John Jakala, you're telling me that Superman's ridiculously blocky more muscular "Big Brother" is the incredible... HALK?

Look! Up in the sky! It's... #SUPERMANDAY!

Here's a smattering of my own work for @dccomics on the Big Guy over the years. Been a minute since I was last in Metropolis-- hope to make it back sometime soon.

A peer reviewed study shows a promising link between flu and shingles vaccines and a reduced risk of dementia. A heroin addict who cut off a raccoon’s penis for “further study” says these vaccines cause autism. For busy Americans, it can be hard to know who to trust.

This is like going to a bullfight wearing PETA underoos.

I LOVE Lois Lane. Beyond “backwards and in heels” she’s as brave and heroic as Superman but she’s not bulletproof. That’s why she’s Clark’s hero (also she’s a better writer and investigator)

#SupermanDay As much as I love Clark Kent, I'm especially proud to have added to the lore of #DCComics Earth-23 Superman Calvin Ellis, who is also the US President of that world. Colors by Art Lyon! Action Comics #9 from 2012.

PS not based on any US president's face, inspired by an athlete I love.

An ex's dad explained to me that he "likes everything about Japan except that it's Japan." He enjoyed their food, their music, and their hospitality, and that everything would be so much easier if leaders could "just stay away from that damn shrine." Similar ideas to what my Filipino relatives think

Koreans hate Japan in the abstract but actually like Japanese people and also visiting actual Japan. It's complicated. (It's not complicated; wanting accountability is not the same as virulent bigotry, another thing that Israel doesn't know about)

I cannot even begin to tell you.
How fast you will move to the top of my ballot.
If you publicly antagonize AI.

Remarkable! Brian captured the way different eras drew anatomy (eg the bottom of the rib cage and the abs) but it still looks unified!

I’m always shocked that the markets still believe the announcements that peace is at hand. It really is weekly.

My president Trump is so stunningly incurious and dumb, I thought the others were smarter in comparison. It hadn’t crossed my mind they’re still just average.

Woke up at 6:50 am with no alarm, took a 7:15am east-coast work call, did lettering notes, made breakfast for the kids, answered some email, helped kids plus friend plant jalapeño and cucumber seeds (spring break), finished a script, made cookies. It's not even 1pm. Send me on the next moon mission

South Korea is doing quote-post diplomacy President Lee drew a parallel between occupied Korea and Palestine

Thr South Korean president criticized Israel, Israel got super mad about the mention of the Holocaust, and not the far worse reference. The president compared them to imperial Japan, which is like the worst thing a Korean can call anyone or anything www.theverge.com/policy/91358...

...because what NYC is really lacking is tall office buildings that will take years to build and fuck up traffic wherever they're built. What on earth.

Federal agents take 2 into custody at Richfield Target Agents with U.S. Customs and Border Protection were at the Target in Richfield around 2 p.m. Thursday where two people were taken away in handcuffs.

Never shopped at Walmart. But I shopped Target 3-4x/month. I apply what leverage that I have, in this case against a company that's betrayed their shoppers, their employees, & their vendors. Target still allows ICE to arrest in their stores & parking lots www.kare11.com/article/news...

Wishing for a fast and full recovery for Adam, one of the greats.

Also, I was unfamiliar with his wife Allison Sohn’s art so I Googled her and man, she is just as amazing of an artist as he is.

I give a pass on li-berry and chimbley if someone has a thick Chicago accent, because I love Chicago. But otherwise, NO!

How do you pronounce nuclear?: Usage Guide
Though disapproved of by many, pronunciations ending in \-kyə-lər\ have been found in widespread use among educated speakers including scientists, lawyers, professors, congressmen, U.S. cabinet members, and at least two U.S. presidents and one vice president. While most common in the U.S., these pronunciations have also been heard from British and Canadian speakers.

I'm with you on this, but English language dictionaries go by usage not consistency. NEW-kyuh-luhr is an official pronunciation.

On a related note, I'll never personally accept hors d'oeuvre pron. as ohrDERV, or Favre pron. as FAHRV.

Sending them all the love.

Alison & Adam are one of the all time great comic book couples, up there with Jack & Roz and with Amanda & Jimmy. Both fabulous artists, but Adam might be THE brightest star in my generation of US superhero comics artists, who taught and inspired so many of us.

It would seem unconstitutional for the US Supreme Court to ignore federalism and overrule a state bar and a state court system's decisions about who is license to practice law in the state, and who to disbar. But John Roberts has never allowed the Constitution and plainly written laws to stop him.
