A score of 43.06 on the colour memory game.
Oh, that was fun, although I always seemed to remember the colours brighter than they were. My H & S were let down by my inaccurate B - I'm blaming my Mac's screen for that though ;-)

Rue Friant dans le 14ème ? En face d'un certain supermarché ? Le problème est quotidien mais personne - ni la mairie, ni la police - semble être motivé pour le résoudre.
What do they mean "repurposed" ? You mean midi controllers can be used for something other than futzing around with live parameters in software ?!
A mason jar filled with fresh damsons, rock sugar and vodka.
A pile of fresh damsons picked from the garden.
This year's batch of umeshu has just been bottled, with just under a kilo of damsons from the garden now soaking in vodka while the rock sugar slowly dissolves. Must be time to taste last year's batch !
A nail parlour with the sign over the door reading 'Mei Beauty Nails' which several letters mis-aligned and/or upside-down.
When keming is the least of your problems... The sign over this nail store in Paris ought to trigger any typographers out there!

Back in Paris after 10 days at the New National Theatre Tokyo, where I had the pleasure of working on the video projections for the Japanese tour of the ballet 'Play' by Alexander Ekman with the Opéra National de Paris. Video playback with Watchout media-servers and Panasonic PT-RQ50K & PT-RZ21K.

Solved 'Bracket City' word puzzle on the Atlantic magazine website.
Finally cracked the 'Bracket City' word quiz in the @theatlantic.com twice in one week ! And then failed miserably the next few days... Ah well.

The Pulse 4K can manage 144Hz on a 2560px input - outputs are still limited to 2160p60Hz. Even higher-end switchers like the Barco E3 or Panasonic Kairos all seem to have the same 60Hz limit. And you might not like the price tag on that kind of equipment anyway !
At first I thought this could be a job for a hardware video switcher like an AnalogWay Pulse - www.analogway.com/products/pul... which would allow multiple PIPs with different inputs. But, since these machines are generally designed for broadcast video applications, they all seem to top out at 60Hz.

Wide shot of a mason jar filled with fruit - reine claudes and quetches - soaking in vodka and sugar, slowly becoming Umeshu (Japanese plum wine).
Close up of fruit and rock sugar in a glass jar.
For the last few years, I have been making umeshu with greengage from my parent’s garden in Shropshire. This year though, there is no fruit at all on the tree, despite lots of blossom back in the spring, so our 2024 vintage is a mix of reine-claude and quetsches from our local market in Paris
In the north-west a new, separated cycle path would have been fantastic, but no filter-on-red for cyclists meant stopping every couple of minutes to let a tram pass parallel to the cycle path.
In general it was better than I expected. A few confusing moments in the south-east when the cycle path swapped to a different side of the road with no warning. On the western side, I had to look at my phone a few times to work out where the next section of cycle path actually was.
A cycling route from the https://cycle.travel website showing a loop around Paris - a 33km trip around the Boulevards des Maréchaux in a clockwise direction.
I quite often ride some parts of the Boulevards des Maréchaux to get to work, but until yesterday I'd never ridden the whole 33.8km loop of the V10 cycle route around Paris.

Looking through my parent's vinyl collection and getting the feeling that back in the 70s & 80s record-cover designers just did whatever the hell they wanted...
Oddly satisfying watch Youtube auto-generated subtitles make a complete mess of this 1966 BBC Wales documentary about the tradition of the Mari Lwyd.

Macbeth Underground Paris 2023 - View of the stage with red LED strip glowing in the background and 3 singers under a white spot light at the front of the stage.
A first for me - a disguise media-server project with no video outputs! The amazing set for 'Macbeth Underworld', designed by Bruno de Lavenère, featured LED strips embedded into the floor and two towers, all moving on 4 revolves. matkeane.com/news/disguis...
Video control booth backstage at Opéra de Paris during a 2023 performance of Don Pasquale.
A colleague sent me this shot of me operating the Watchout media-servers in the video control booth (affectionately known as the food truck) backstage at Opéra de Paris Garnier during a recent performance of Don Pasquale.
