My young son and I, wearing masks at the Ottawa Charge hockey game, and also wearing orange for Indigenous Heritage night.
Pic from Wil Wheaton's Instagram of him and a woman masked at the LA Kings game.
Me too @wilwheaton.net! Masked at the hockey game last night with one of my favourite people. @pwhlcharge.bsky.social

Masks During Pandemics Caused by Respiratory Pathogens
This special communication evaluates the evidence on the association of face mask use with the spread of SARS-CoV-2.
Here's a really good compilation of evidence for masking. A FIT-tested N95 is better than a surgical/procedure mask which is better than a cloth mask. And masks work best when used by the person infected with the virus. jamanetwork.com/journals/jam...

Definitely the Riker as he turned out in Star Trek Picard! Maybe not the Riker of the first few seasons of TNG. He had a bit more of a Kirk swag going then.

Mug of coffee and a jug of maple syrup sitting on a table in front of a laptop showing the Davis Cup tie between Canada and Germany.
Enjoying my coffee the
Vasek Pospisil way as I cheer on Team Canada! π¨π¦

At 16, students in ON have just finished taking Civics. We tell them how important civic engagement is and how young people can make a difference. And then we tell them they don't matter until they're 18, even though in that moment they are better informed than the vast majority of adults out there.

The Canadian sports fan in me loves this! π₯³
I'm not a huge football fan, but enthusiastically cheer on the RedBlacks in person once or twice a year, and watch the Grey Cup.
Whenever I happen to catch the SuperBowl, I'm always shocked by how boring the NFL game is.

Remembrance Day needs to be about people's lived and remembered experiences of war. How DARE we say that it can only be about older, mostly white, Canadians' wars? How does that help with the goal of "never again"?

Mine today was finally deciding I am, in fact, too sick to go to work tomorrow, so taking my 2nd sick day of the year. And now thinking of how long I need to stay up to prep for a supply teacher.

For some reason I thought I had read it was going to be Hansen (interchangeable brother boy bands?) and I was more excited than I should have been.

I missed Gen X by 12 days, so I'm technically a Millenial. But I think I'm Gen X at heart!

I would like to speak up today for the trans community.
You see, I know a bit of what itβs like to be politically scapegoated. When Japan attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941, suddenly anyone in America who had any amount of Japanese ancestry became suspect. Politicians preyed upon ignorance and fear. /1

It takes an exile from Putinβs Russia, writing about the theories of an exile from Orbanβs Hungary, to cut through the noise about Trumpβs America, from which we have nowhere left to run. Gift link to M. Gessen in NYT: www.nytimes.com/2024/11/15/o...

I was seeing that for awhile too! A lot of people on your list were showing up that way so, but it all seems to have worked itself out now, from my end anyway.
