How much coal would the French have to find under the Louvre to destroy it? How much gas would the UK need to find under Stonehenge to knock it down?

Australia must be the richest country in the world willing to destroy its ancient heritage for one more gas project #climate

Under the cover of the on-again/off-again Coalition drama, Labor is gearing up to approve an absolutely catastrophic gas project.

Woodside’s North West Shelf is an untapped climate bomb.

This approval would mean supercharged floods, fires and species extinctions.

These are genocidal acts and war crimes. Fixating on whether 14,000 babies starve in 48 hours or over months is a distraction — a deliberate one — from the horrifying truth: the evidence is overwhelming, and the killing, bombing and strategic starvation is ongoing.

Make fossil fuel exporters pay for the damage they are causing, not ordinary Australians Climate change is making natural disasters like fires, floods, heatwaves and drought worse, costing Australians billions every year. Make fossil fuel producers pay a climate disaster levy to help pay...

Tragic to see the flooding across NSW. As these disasters get more common and more severe, we should make fossil fuel exporters pay a climate disaster levy.

So that those causing the damage pay for the clean-up, not ordinary Australians.

Only if people a) believed they’d actually DO anything for the environment (not me) &/or b) really gave a sh%t about the environment (me) - hence my voting #Greens not ALP.

Commiserations to all those facing flood devastation. While you’re sandbagging, Labor is clearing the way for even more climate chaos.

Why Whistler's Summer Ski Camps Might Be Over for Good A nearly 30-year tradition has ended at Canada's largest ski resort.

Would it have killed them to mention the fact that this was due to climate change? @powcanada.bsky.social

A real leader leads even when chips are down & does not wait for a woman to do the hard yards before pushing her to the side to take charge. Very weak by Andrew Hastie who clearly has an issue being lead by a woman. He doesn’t think they’re good enough for combat, or to lead.

New Zealand MPs who performed haka in parliament given unprecedented punishment Co-leaders of Te Pāti Māori and its youngest member to be temporarily suspended from parliament after performance protesting controversial bill

“Judith Collins, the attorney-general and committee chair, said it was the toughest punishment the committee had ever handed out and “the worst incident that we have ever seen”.”

Wow, weird that “the worst incident we have ever seen” does not include gutting pay equity, threats to Te Tiriti etc 🤔

Yep- watch this.
My blood ran cold as Jason Stanley, Professor of Philosophy at Yale (who studies fascist rhetoric) said ‘You know you’re living in a fascist society when you’re constantly going over in your head the reasons why YOU’RE safe.’

Marjorie, I know the truth confuses you and facts ain’t your strong suit—so let me break it down real slow:

George Floyd didn’t die from drugs. He died because Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for 9 minutes. That’s called murder.

Energy Australia has been selling coal fired energy as "carbon neutral".

The offsets used have been shown to be ineffective.

"What's really concerning is that it's the Australian Government that's been giving the tick of approval to these offsets," @richarddenniss.bsky.social said on Sky News.

It’s a great honour and privilege to be elected as the fifth leader of the Australian Greens.

In the face of the escalating climate and environment crisis, the housing crisis and the worst inequality crisis in history, our movement has never been more important.

The exclusion of TPM from Parliament is straight out racism by the privileges committee. No one else has EVER received such a censure.

The Climate Active scheme encourages consumers to “make a positive impact by supporting these organisations” without offering any proof or verifying that emissions are being “offset”.

The Australia Institute has previously reported Climate Active to the ACCC.
