Why do I never hear John McDonnell criticising the Conservatives or Reform?
Every time I hear him criticising another politician, it’s always someone else in the Labour Party.

what's he said?
(but yes, to get back to the original point, here in the folk scene we've had a lot of conversations like "if these people love British culture so much, why haven't they joined their local morris dancing side")
Was this 'gloom' anything to do with the right-wing Press talking Britain down again?
Which platform was that?
Bet it was this one.
Is roof pitch still a thing?
I remember at one point it wasn't worthwhile if your roof slanted east-west as you'd only get half the day.
Even better if his first press conference was him stood at the lectern just looking at the Press Lobby and not answering questions as he takes his sweet fucking time eating a massive bacon sandwich.
At the Horseshoe Café.
If this all goes south for Starmer, I’d love it if Ed Miliband became PM for no other reason than watching the Very Online Right lose their shit.
The Telegraph are just flailing around at this point.
The Greens are either hyper-focused Stalinists or they are unserious berks who blurt out all manner of inconsistencies.
They cannot be both.
Britons (or Canadians in Canada) publicly advocating and lobbying for the implementation of a US system of health care on behalf of US medical insurers (i.e. a system worse for citizens than what exists in both countries) - good or bad?
What are your feeling about persons in my example? Of migrant Scots in Spain agitating for Catalonian independence not out of love for Catalonia but solely for them being a domino towards Scottish independence?
As I said elsewhere, the concept of nationhood is not measured in square miles.
“…we’re closing in on perceived motivation as the problem”
There was never any intent in my statements to rely on “perceived motivation”. I have always emphasised on people’s actions.
To be precise, there is no level of disavowal that *some people* will accept.
That doesn’t make it an improper question.
And it’s a question that people should ask themselves all the time. Indeed, most who emigrate/immigrate ask themselves it and act accordingly with their conscience.
I don’t assume anything.
I let people’s words and actions to the talking.
Are you going to answer the question so I can give you a proper answer to your original question?
That would “pass the test”, because that’s the politics of your current home.
If you want an example of a failed test, it would be Scottish immigrants in Spain agitating for Catalan independence solely because of a perceived “domino theory” to benefit Scottish independence.
I didn’t know you were Jewish, as it’s a question that can be asked of anyone
So, given that the question is in direct response to the point you first made to me, do you act in that manner wherever it is that you reside?
You’re just telling on yourself now, anonymous account.
Yes it is. You haven’t been reading the whole thread.
Do you actively work in the interests of an overseas government or movement, acting on those interests above those of where you reside?
No. The funding is irrelevant.
Burgess, Philby and Maclean favoured another country’s interests above those of Britain for free.
When I was away and thinking about making emigration permanent, I didn’t feel the need to e.g attack the local meetings for Conservatives Abroad, inflicting the politics of my birth nation on my then-home.
Never thought that some people would think that acceptable.
Yes. And the land of Guy Burgess’ birth is also Britain.
We‘re not specifically talking about where someone is born. We’re talking about the balance of allegiances. British Jews should not be targeted because of the actions of others - even if Melanie Phillips acts more for Israel than the UK.
Don’t obsess on the Spain bit.
All his current actions add up to someone who puts the interests of Britain below those who he is acting for.
"I will give my loyalty to the United Kingdom and respect its rights and freedoms. I will uphold its democratic values. I will observe its laws faithfully and fulfil my duties and obligations as a British citizen."

Haven’t you heard? Tommy Robinson is promoting pro-Israeli & pro-MAGA values with law-breaking & incitement.
He also lives in Spain the majority of the time.
So yeah - to me he’s just as bad AND he’s another example of what I was originally talking about.
Exactly. The Tebbit Test is a disingenuous dogwhistle for racism, and is irrelevant when discussing e.g. white British Christians promoting US Baptist activities in Britain to end abortion rights.
I’d already worked out that you abhor the act of sectarian violence.
The point here is that you have no concerns of any kind about inherited sectarianism in a diaspora and think it has no consequence to a sense of citizenry.
