Just finished this graphic novel by Kate Beaton. What a moving and troubling story about life in the Albertan oil sands. It touches on so many themes- hyper-masculinity, Canadian economic disparity, frontier politics, sexual abuse and environmental violence. Such a worthwhile read. #Ducks

Mattress on the floor for co-sleeping with baby here at the in-laws. Can’t complain. Having to clamber over the wooden base to open the window blinds is a small price to pay for preventing smol from falling out of bed. Inclusion of v old cuddly tiger a nice touch. 🎄 #duvetknowitschristmas

Anyone who wants to understand the ladder of participation in activism and the differences between climate activists who are engaging in arrestable offenses versus those who are engaging in lawful demonstration must read this new paper by Saunders and Hayes! www.tandfonline.com/doi/pdf/10.1...

It’s a gorgeous book isn’t it! So evocative of childhood innocence. I’m looking to sharing it with my children

I should have said, “and in this fantasy, pretend that said leader can read and understand a complex and/or challenging idea…” 😅

I’d like to think that Keir Starmer has read Hedgelands by Christopher Hart, or Peter Wohlleben’s The Hidden Life of Trees. Or Naomi Klein’s This Changes Everything. His green credentials need urgently improving.
