So now I am mildly fascinated with the history of this weird 99 year old book. It was published in 1927. I don’t know if I should sell it, turn it into an art project, or put it back on my shelf and let it turn 100 years old in peace.

The story was very dated in both language and plot. One short literally references war time values. I thought it was just some one-off thing but upon researching, there are a TON of different Uncle Wiggly books illustrated by different artists, as well as a board game older than this specific book.

My great grandma passed away a few years ago, and my great grandpa gave away a lot of stuff. I ended up with a bunch of old children’s books. After collecting dust, I decided to pick this one up and read it before giving it away. I had no idea this was such a popular character of the early 1900s.
