The second one is definitely a ratsnake and the third one is definitely a dekay's, but I'm not actually sure about the first one! Someone else suggested it's a juvenile water snake, but i would believe juvenile ratsnake too

Something I'm working on for fun 👍
It's entirely audio triggered, so if you want something that tracks your head movement, you'd need something else. I've heard Live2d is what people use for that, but I've never messed with it myself.
If you're okay with a simple two-frame (mouth open/mouth closed) animation, there are a couple of really easy ways to set them up! I've used both Reactive by Fujitech and Move Transition for OBS and they have worked really well for me.

i say all of this because people occasionally come to me asking "what if people online get mad at me for the stories i write?" my answer is: you can't do anything about that. but also, in ten years, it probably isn't going to matter much at all.
Here's how I scale my reference images!

An important part of the development of an artist is realizing that a work of "outsider" art is 1. genuinely good 2. outside your ability to replicate, because learning your skill set trained you away from being able to do what the untrained do. You can learn, but you have to be humble.

Workin' on the oar now! Still some refinement to do, but this will eventually get 3d printed and stuck on the end of a wooden mop handle.
Testing out it out, looks good. I can finally get to finishing this up. Very pleased with how it’s turning out even though it was a bit more difficult than the flying crocodile mobile

Drew this back in 2022 and never posted it because it didn't turn out the way I wanted it to, but looking at it four years later and I like the Shape of it. Tiger sphinx?

“A young kingfisher seems to grow like a potato in a cellar, all the growth going to the end near the light. He sits looking toward the door and, of course, his face naturally all goes to nose. Everything is forfeited to furnish him with a big head, a spear-pointed bill, and a pair of strong wings to give this arrow-shaped bird a good start when he dives for fish.” – William L. Finley, American Birds, 1908
In researching various birds for the novel, I found this quote about young kingfishers that I am quite fond of.
