Flyers have now won 7 of their last 9 playoff games in Pittsburgh.

Tonight was 8th time Pens blanked in a home playoff game. Others:
Game 1 v Bruins, 2013
Game 7 v Lightning, 2011
Game 5 v Flyers, 2009
Game 4 v Devils, 2001
Game 3 v Devils, 2001
Game 7 v Islanders, 1975
Game 3 v Hawks, 1972
Tonight marked the second time Pens were blanked by Flyers in playoffs. Other was Game 5 here in 2009 (Biron 28 saves, 3-0).
Yep, he's been their best player by a mile.
In 12 minutes of power play time in this series against the NHL's #22 PK, Pens have 0 goals and 3 shots. And they've allowed a SHG.
Pens had 48 shot attempts tonight that were either blocked (25) or missed the net (23). Only twice this season did they have a higher number: 49 @ CBJ on Jan. 4 and 51 v. Leafs on Nov. 29.
He's not had a good series at all. Him and a lot of others, including Karlsson.
Not talking about the lack of offense. Pens became completely unglued in 2012 v. Flyers and look how they ended the game tonight. It's a bad sign. They have a lot of tactical issues right now, but even worse they are not responding mentally in the right way to all the challenges in front of them.
He has them well prepared.
I'm talking about the frustration levels, that's all. This is very, very similar to 2012. Look how Pens react at the end tonight. That's not them, but against the Flyers when things go wrong in the playoffs, that's what happens to them.
Players mostly I suspect. I don't know what Muse has told them, so impossible to say if his message and reactionary tactics are wrong or if he's guiding them right and they're not executing. My guess is mostly the latter.
This is 15th time Pens have fallen behind, 0-2, in a playoff series. Of previous 14 series, they won 5:
1991 v Bruins
1992 v Caps
1996 v Caps
2009 v Caps
2009 v Wings
Three of those Pens' teams were Cup champs, and the other (96) came 1 win away from reaching Final.
Just sitting in neutral zone and Pens are acting like they’ve never seen it before.
So far in this series, it's the Flyers who look like the experienced playoff team with a steady focus and the Pens who look like they have no idea how to win in April.
That series was just about not being able to score. The frustration levels of Pens right now are exactly what we saw vs Flyers in 2012.
Didn’t we see all this in 2012?
Flyers just waiting for that pass back to the point by Pens that has been so instrumental to them this season.
Power play is a complete train wreck.
Yes, an original call of holding the stick would have been right.
Really hard to figure that last Pens’ power play. Flyers just missed a short-handed breakaway, and didn’t look like anyone was bothered to chase down the puck. Then Letang just bounced off Tippett to make the SHG possible.
Yeah, but I don’t think Geno made that happen. Might have been Ristolainen’s stick pushing Geno’s stick into Konecny.
Not sure how they made that call. Clearly not Geno’s stick.
Pens have had 36 shot attempts to 16 by Flyers. Pens have missed net 15 times, had 13 blocked.
Pens just dominating this period so far.
Pens went 15:14 without a shot until Novak’s shot early in the second.
Flyers with much less time in the offensive zone than Pens and 0:00 of power play time and have 5 shots to Pens' 2. This is how Philly succeeded after the Olympic break, by really limiting chances against. At moment, Pens have no answer for it.
Special teams set up as a big advantage for Pens entering this series. Through 4 periods, Pens have had 8:00 of power play time and 1 shot.
Pens 2 shots in the opening period, matching team record for fewest shots in the opening period of a home playoff game. Also happened in Game 3 against Caps in 2000.
Pens with 1 shot on 4:00 of power play time so far.
