Alternatively, we all get bored, switch off the endless noise and they go and get proper jobs.

Well, yes it does.

*thinks about putting steel mesh under compost bins*

*decides banging lid before opening is loads easier*

I think I might watch this clip on a loop all evening just to watch her implode over and over again

He could be an unreliable suitor on a Victorian drama…

This is increasingly my opinion too. It’s a huge industry now, all clamouring to be fed with constant drama.

A “set”?? Tsk. Everyone knows that the collective noun for cunts is a ‘bunch’, not a set.

Compost needs direct connection with the soil so that all the creatures can get in and do their stuff. So you can’t make compost rat-proof. I just bang the lid before opening it so they scarper before I see them.

No doubt he’s doing so on the advice of his hairdresser…

A clear rejoin message’ is as unhelpful as the Brexit-that-no-one-could-define message of 2016. It all depends on the terms, which are largely out of our hands. That’s why any message about EU membership has got to be nuanced, hedged and actually pretty vague.

It’s okay. No one cares about anything 30p Lee says. Even his colleagues in Reform think he’s a blustering twat

That kind of bland positivity isn’t going to generate many clicks and replies though, is it? I mean how are our hundreds of political commentators going to pay for their summer holidays?

Alternatively, we could all just calm down and let everyone get on with steering the country through tense and difficult times…

‘No one uses…’ is correct. The ‘straight people’ are not the subject of the sentence. So there.

Bullshit. No one but straight people of a certain age uses the word “promiscuous”. Absolutely no one.

It’s a big story. It generates engagement and revenue so it’s literally what pays their mortgage. She’s not telling lies and I doubt the rights and wrongs of it matter much to her. Nor should it.

It’s very common for couples to work in the same industry or inhabit the same world. Apart from anything else, work is often where you meet people and find your partner…

If he’s got any sense (which is debatable) he’s just keeping well clear of the whole thing for as long as he possibly can

Oh me too. Oddly, the only people doing colourful and funky interiors are the Chinese. Okay most of their stock is grey over black but colour-coded, funky interiors are to be had if the adverts are to be believed.

TWO pop-up ads that can’t be removed blocking my view? Nope. I’m off.

I’m so pleased this was front-page news in all our papers this week. And that Chris Mason spent so long on this story on the BBC…

Iran is old news. Doesn’t get the clicks anymore. If all these political hacks are going to pay the rent this month they need a new drama to generate clicks, anger, engagement and revenue. They don’t really care what the story is so long as it generates revenue.

I loved that album when I was a student!

It’s not a game show. But it *is* a ratings grab. Our huge political commentariat needs a constant supply of drama to sustain itself. Drama means engagement means money. It’s completely in the interests of the media to create that drama relentlessly for its very survival. So it will.

Reform will do a Trump: they will only give access to ‘friendly’ journalists. Mason and co are carefully polishing their friendly credentials so they can carry on doing their job. In a new, obedient BBC, the likes of Mason will do very well, while Vic Derbyshire and co will probably just retire…

“Please Miss, can I have some more ticks? I’ve used all of mine up”

Is that a real post from Trump? It smells fake to me. If it was real it would be making massive headlines…

I think you miss the point about most media coverage, including the BBC. A major threat to the PM is Drama. Drama drives content, content drives engagement, engagement means money and in the case of salaried hacks it gets them the big story. The hacks depend on drama for their very survival

Yeah, I’ve been to parties like that….

As long as Farage is anywhere other than zero in the opinion polls, we won’t get anywhere near rejoining. I mean why on earth would they waste their time when *two* leading parties are committed entirely to rejecting any ties to the EU?
