Vancouver council approves respectful discourse pledge as mayor faces defamation suit A Vancouver city councillor who is suing the mayor for defamation wiped away tears at a Wednesday meeting when describing the toll threats and personal attacks have had on him since he was elected.

On April 1st ABC councillors unanimously signed on to the Elect Respect campaign. On Sunday they started running this ad. It’s almost comical at this point.

Today, COPE’s school trustee Suzie Mah is moving six motions to better support students, including students with disabilities, to restore cut school meal funding, and to reallocate funding from administrative staff to frontline staff that support children directly.

Me quote tweeting the mayor saying “bread and circuses except without the bread”. The mayors tweet reads: Vancouver should become the next home of a Major League Baseball team. With the MLB publicly expressing interest in expansion in the near future, we see an opportunity to position our city as the next home for a franchise. This could be an opportunity to bring something truly special to Vancouver. An MLB team would be a significant step forward for our city and would create lasting memories for fans across generations.
