And let's not forget that there were plenty of people in on Son for being too meek and not a proper captain last year. Maybe it's just partly when we are shite in league the captain gets the blame and partly that there are country based stereotypes of a proper captain at work as well.

Unfortunately pretty much 95% of them are.
He is certainly the best Scottish professional of this generation. That doesn't mean he's not also prone to angry and petulant outbursts, playing extremely slow, and generally acting like a child. It's much worse than a few swearing words.
I don't think captains matter that much tbf. Also, this is sort of nonsensical as every match you'd need to name a captain so whoever that is would be functional captain. And Madders was away from club for a lot of his rehab.
100% and being over here for the last 11 years has made me thinks its even less coherent! The best part is the tactic folks and analytic types that still go in on the import of captains as if 1) they can see or know what goes on inside, or 2) it's anything more than external perception and vibes.

usually when I'm on podcasts, I'm talking politics and religion. Saudi investment in sport had me on a few podcasts talking about the PIF.
This is my first ever podcast just talking about golf and how Scotland got me hooked on the game and why Oz deepened my love. @mikeclaytongolf.bsky.social
Scottie can be a whiny brat for sure, but Bob acts like a bellend.
and the lowest one is from my home state so a bit embarrassing to not get the 99 or 100.
there are many islands in the country! Fortunately, I once gave a lecture there so was fortunate.

Previously I only occasionally listened when Jack was on but mostly gave up.

and the Saudis aren't in the mood to take over! Withdrawing funding for LIV, selling one of their domestic clubs, dropping out of women's tennis, etc.
don't get me wrong, it would be VERY convenient!
I'm feeling hopeful and that's not going to change based on West Ham tonight! Another week of bedding in patterns of play and fitness, plus Madders maybe back. We just need a win and need it at Wolves on Saturday.
Spurs best point tally from any 5 match run in the league was at the start of the season with 3 wins, a draw and a loss. Can they equal or top that in their last 5?
