Today I raised my concerns with the Burbank Police Department in regards to their use of Military Equipment.
They didn’t provide any useful answers about the potential of using this equipment against peaceful protestors, but I did get to meet a few wonderful people in our community.

Last night, another shooting in the United States claimed the lives of two Americans. This time, it was a targeted hate crime against attendees of the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington DC. The after-hours event being held was focused on "bridge building" between Israelis and Palestinians. Violence undermines the efforts of peace. We must never allow hatred to seep into our hearts and should always speak out against any rhetoric that condones violence especially as justification for peace. Please keep your Jewish friends, family, and neighbors in your hearts today. They are not feeling safe. Antisemitic hate crimes nearly doubled in 2017 and have doubled again since 2022. These targeted acts of bigotry cannot be normalized. I join the many voices condemning last night's shooting and will continue to advocate non-violence.

It was “no coincidence,” he said, that the Starbucks strike coincided with work stoppages by Amazon warehouse workers and delivery drivers in the run-up to Christmas. “Workers have shown up at the exact moment where these two companies make their biggest profits, Christmas season,” Anthony said. “Power lies with the people, people who make the drinks, people who deliver the packages. If you want to give a good product to your customers, you need to treat the people delivering that product well.”
