Trans flag colours

I am grateful for the wisdom of the trans people in my life who have guided my understanding.
I am in awe of their courage and dignity in the face of cruelty.
I am thankful for their friendship.

I'm not saying this for selfish reasons I promise, but I think everyone should read more indie books- there are a ton of absolute gems out there, often telling stories that you won't see in traditionally published books.

This is particularly applicable to books by marginalised authors!

Trans people exist. In every culture and every society on the planet, and have done throughout recorded history. They are a natural part of the human condition and always will be because (spoiler alert!) they are born every day. They aren't an ideology, they are people.

Hate is an ideology though!

Obviously I know nothing about your friend - but I am a lady of advancing years and I appreciate anything a little luxurious I can use - a diffuser, a scented candle, a nice handcream. I’m sure she’ll love what you give because you give it

The court is erasing Banksy's mural just like it's erasing our right to protest

It only took 48 hours for the court to scrub out a Banksy showing a judge striking down a protester with his gavel

Silencing a work of art about silencing protest? Maybe it was a little too close to home

The supreme court didn’t rule on the definition of ‘a woman’ – this is what its judgment does mean | Sam Fowles The judges had to interpret the law as set down by parliament. But it must be remembered this is not an abstract debate; it concerns real people, says barrister Sam Fowles

The case was brought to prevent trans women taking up places reserved for women on public boards (NB as of 2020 no trans woman had taken such a place).
Good take here on what the judgement does and doesn’t mean.

In years to come we'll look at this era and wonder why in light of a global pandemic, economic inflation, growing inequality and technological upheaval we decided to make the private lives of a minority considerably worse.

Gay Venezuelan stylist sent to Salvadoran prison after a disgraced cop's report Now a contractor for ICE, the officer was on a list of disgraced cops in Milwaukee. His report helped send a man to a notorious prison in El Salvador.

I’M GOING TO KEEP POSTING THIS STORY UNTIL ANDRY IS FREED: Gay Venezuelan makeup artist sent to Salvadoran prison after a disgraced cop's report
