Traditional Patriots’ Day activities include complaining about the marathon and singing the ancient song of my people. youtu.be/2E_0CEiWAc4

Nobody is more delighted about this research than my kid. This is exactly at the overlap of his major interests - Sonic the Hedgehog and making fun of me.
I love them so much.
Yes, yes. I need to teach them how to stay *a little* more still while shooting film. But this does capture the energy of being a third grader on a camping trip with your best friend.
I lent my kid my 35mm point and shoot for a camping trip and they accidentally created some shoegaze album covers.
This week's update includes: Hungarian (and Canadian) science fiction, the President's Budget Request, news out of the CDC and Department of Education, and more! fusiforms.beehiiv.com/p/april-10th...

I probably should have clarified that I am in the US, yeah. Sorry to over generalize!
Oh, I didn’t mean to imply that there aren’t problems. Not at all.
My (admittedly clumsily made) point was just that the way we’ve been talking about this for the last 10+ years hits a bit different right now.

In this week's newsletter: I used Artemis II as a justification to buy a 50 year old 35mm camera, a rundown of the Presidential Budget Request, an editor's note about reproducibility crises, and a clip from Mr. Show. fusiforms.beehiiv.com/p/april-3rd-...

But anyway…
Dunkin' Donuts may be an inexplicable New England shibboloth, but I've got horror stories about visiting my parents in MA and seeing that the only coffee available was "Dunkin' Original" pods for their Keurig machine.
We went there the night I proposed to my now wife.
I am sure the food was great, but can’t remember the details. Just that the kitchen sent out snacks and champagne and the waitstaff thanked me for not proposing during dinner.
It was perfect. I was so sad to read it had closed.
The Usual (Prospect Heights, Brooklyn)
Completely unpretentious diner run by two Greek brothers, one of whom gave rollerblade lessons at the nearby park.
