Except this was a career shift, so I'm not exactly brimming with confidence in my processes yet. :V

But here I am, trying to drag seven projects and a big handful of procedures into existence, up to my eyeballs in shit I just don't know yet.

Take a deep breath and trust the process again.

But jeeesus I am so tired of feeling like I'm always on the back foot with these projects at work. There's always one more thing I didn't have eyes on because I basically came in to obliterate old processes and create new ones. It's nerve-wracking, and the absolute essence of "trust the process."

I've been the new person in enough jobs to know that comfort moves like a sine wave: you exist in the pit of knowing absolutely nothing, then you rise to feeling like you've got a handle on it, then you plummet back into the panic of your own ignorance, over and over, for at least a year or two.

Public comment on US passport form changes related to trans

Public comment is now open for passport gender marker changes.

You can go here to go to each of the three proposed passport rules, and submit comment.

My suggestion: be unique, argue for trans-inclusive policies, against the constitutionality of the changes, etc.

Maybe now that I’ve thrown that out into the void I can let it go. 2025 will have enough of its own problems, I’m sure

Things had been slowly getting better in late October, but Thanksgiving through now? I’d rather just forget most of it ever happened. I’m grateful for the brighter parts and the people who made them meaningful; it was just really rough when I had been eager for better.

December pretty much felt like 2024 giving me one last swift kick in the ribs before scooting out the door. A parting gift to remind me that there is no overarching plot and the calendar has no bearing on whether you’ve been down “long enough” to get to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

It's bandcamp Friday, so 100% of what you spend on an artist's music goes to them today. If you are new to my music, or an existing listener, go check out my bandcamp. I have plenty of music spanning over 15 years of production and touring, as well as my entire discography at a discount.

The number of orgs that told us to 'wait our turn' and prioritized marriage equality over all else does not go without notice -- neither is the fact that most of those same orgs have done nothing to address the fact that many disabled people still don't have marriage equality.

I wish more people covering politics knew/remembered that marriage equality was the compromise project of what began as a gay liberation movement, not its completion

The effort to undermine the Maori treaty is led by David Seymour, who has ties to the Atlas Network and who used to work at a Canadian think tank that has called the discovery of graves of Indigenous children at a residential school a "hoax."

Yowza — that’s one hell of a thing to associate with that period in time! I remember good things about my LJ days, but I was also in college, so who knows how much of that impression can be trusted anymore.

….I miss when Google was a reliable search engine, though

Gammija's corner Has anything actually gotten better, for all the work you talk about doing? Or is it just treading water in misery forever? Anon, ten years ago gay people couldn't get married in large parts of the…

www.tumblr.com/gammija/7667... here's a nice bit of positivity in the face of a lot of despair lately. It constantly feels like we're backsliding, but things ARE getting better and it's because people keep fighting even when it seems like fighting doesn't do much.
