From all the recent cancellations MARTA may as well have already discontinued the No. 2 bus route.

Former AJC investigative editor recognized nationally for four-decade career Lois Norder directed investigations exposing fraud and abuse in housing, health care, education and the prison system.

And now for some good news. It was my pleasure to work with Lois Norder on many big AJC projects.
A typical 10-minute chat with her generates a half-dozen investigative story ideas.
Atlanta (Georgia really) was very lucky to be under her scrutiny.

Baltimore is seeing the city’s fewest homicides in 50 years. Here’s why. Multiple people have taken credit for the historic drop that mirrors a national decrease in violent crimes. Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott says it’s due to a community-based approach to gun violence.

#Baltimore Mayor #BrandonScott invested in 42 summer youth camps, 29 literacy programs, extended the rec center hours to 11 p.m, planned block parties, opened the pools for safe fun, & opened several schools up for summer classes. Crime is down 62%. 🔥🔥 www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/202...

Over the pandemic I picked up a WFH habit of listening to a lot of the Classic FM station — that’s a good way to get an Elgar fix several times a day.

The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office has filed three additional misdemeanor charges “for distracted driving, failure to obey traffic control device, and reckless driving”.

@ajc.com reports they are unrelated to his Saturday arrest but seem to be connected to Guevara’s daily routine as a reporter:

I liked Chadwick’s weird little backup short stories too. They could be romanticly sweet and nightmarish at the same time.
