We've come to expect union busting from Amazon.
But from a “co-op” like REI? That’s a betrayal of their workers and members.

All workers in Washington should read this quote from our state Attorney General.

Now is the time to fight! No more "keeping the powder dry."
REI built its brand on community and sustainability. But now, it’s cutting pay, slashing benefits, and fighting its own workers.
That’s the playbook of a megacorporation – not a co-op.
Workers at 11 REI stores across the US have voted to unionize, but the company has refused to reach an agreement on wages, staffing and other workplace issues.
Instead of investing in their workers, REI are cutting benefits and lowering pay.
That’s why this boycott matters.
Here’s what your favorite outdoor Co-op doesn’t want you to know 👇
REI presents itself as value-driven and sustainable — but their supply chain tells a different story.
Same old story.
Had a great time on the April 3rd episode of The Rick Smith show.
Thanks for having me on, Rick!
Our economy depends on a service industry workforce that’s majority women, who deliver the bulk of frontline grocery, retail, health care and education labor.

Yup.
Looks like surveillance pricing has made its way into… The Washington Post’s subscription pricing?

It’s getting harder and harder for many of us to afford groceries, housing, or a tank of gas – meanwhile, the billionaire class and CEOs are seeing record high salaries.
If you’re not practicing striking with your union, now is the time to start.
🙄
No matter where I go, whether it’s grocery workers, farm workers, or factory workers, we are all facing the problem of consolidated power and wealth.
That’s where unions have something to offer.
Corporations are laying the groundwork for surveillance pricing in grocery stores.
The sooner we can outlaw this invasive, anti-consumer practice, the better.
It’s time we take a hard look at our priorities.
Hah!
You can strike for 1 minute, 1 day, or 1 week. What matters is that we're practicing striking.
That's the way we'll build up to a general strike.
Yup.
It’s simple. Workers in the wealthiest country in the world should have:
✅ A safe workplace
✅ A liveable wage
✅ Healthcare
This shouldn’t be too much to ask for.
Workers, take your breaks!
Even something as small as taking your regularly scheduled break can be the start of making things better at your workplace.
Let’s be clear: People want to work – but they also want to be paid fairly for their labor.
Reviving America’s working class takes two steps:
1️⃣ Break up the monopolies
2️⃣ Tax the billionaires
It’s not hard – we just have to do it.
Life is becoming increasingly unaffordable for too many of us.
It's time for workers to start using their power to strike.
Corporate tax breaks won’t protect workers.
You know what does?
Unions.
Tune out the cynics.
For Washington workers struggling to afford housing, health care, and basic needs, our tax code isn’t working. But we have a way to push with the Millionaires Tax.
