The study found that long-term childhood poverty:
- Fell for children born after the late 1990s
- Remained stable for children born in the 2000s
- Rose sharply again among those born after 2013, when the austerity reforms started
- Was experienced by 23% of children in the 2016-17 cohort

The study, by @sbeduk.bsky.social (Departmental Lecturer in Comparative Social Policy) & Anna Yong found that more than 1 in 5 children born after 2013 experience poverty for at least half their childhood.
