Hasan calls anti-genocide jews "zionists" for daring to acknowledge that Hamas is a threat to a free Palestine, it's a bad look

Itโs unreal how bad NYC condo vs. house property tax disparity is.
$2.15 million house in Bed-Stuy, taxes are $490/mo.: streeteasy.com/sale/1811884...
$1.16 million 2BR/2BA condo in FiDi, taxes are $2,099/mo.: streeteasy.com/sale/1811603...
SFO has no TSA workers in security screening and yet there are reports of ICE activity yesterday
In frontline regions, passenger trains are forced to run under extreme safety measuresโusing a flatbed car at the front to trigger potential mines, while drivers are protected by added armor plates and mesh shielding.
I live in a similar neighborhood as you (The Excelsior SF) in this regard. Doesn't change the fact that my house is full to the brim with as many adults as rooms, and same with most of my neighbors. Low housing stock results in high prices, high prices result in high crowding.
Everyone knows there's two kinds of weird: good weird and bad weird
If any of your neighbors have kids, or get divorced, or have adult roommates or other relatives living with them, for a lot of those people the only way to stay in a neighborhood long-term might be to add more rental housing. I agree that the primary homeowner might feel differently.
Even progressive income tax is somewhat regressive. The rich are rich enough not to need income. There are some taxes that are not regressive, like land value tax and pigouvian taxes.
This is not true. The US is safer than pretty much any time since we've been taking statistics.
like 99% of the time the argument is basically โthe new housing is more expensive than the old housingโ which like, yeah, but that is because of its positional value
BART announcements would have you believe it's said "muntgummery"
When Daylight Saving Time fans say "But 4:30 sunrise" What they think will happen - Person annoyed blasted with sun What will actually happen - Person sleeping peacefully
It's healthier to wake after sunrise with Standard Time, than to wake in the dark with Daylight Saving Time.
I'll believe my neighbors here in California aren't racist and xenophobic when they start to accept that we should build housing that is affordable for immigrants and newcomers. Until then it's rhetoric more than belief. (but yes, MAGA are worse)
explain this soul thing for me, I know him mostly from his anti-alt-right writings
I keep thinking about drunk driving penalties in Latvia (BA limit .05, .02 for new drivers). As of 2022, if you're caught with a BAC of .15 or refuse a test, your car is confiscated & either auctioned or donated to Ukraine. This new policy has (unsurprisingly) reduced DUIs
If a 27 year old woman was randomly killed on the streets of Capitol Hill by *anything* other than a motor vehicle it would be all over the front pages this morning. Cars are the thing that make me fear the most for my safety in this city and yet this is how the local paper of record responds.
Land accounts for like 35% of all wealth, such an incoherent thing to say
I used to see fare evasion every day on BART, now I haven't seen it once in the past year. There are some valid criticisms of the new gates but they definitely seem to work for fare evasion.
There are many obvious reasons why ICE must be abolished and DHS must be dismantled. But we shouldn't overlook the fact that this bald, fat dork showed up to work with a skull mask and a plate carrier and no one ordered him to go home and change.
leftists love to throw "nonviolence won't protect you!!" at liberals. but they misunderstand. nonviolence isn't about protecting yourself. nonviolence doesn't mean nonconfrontational.
nonviolence. is. about. winning.

Begging for someone to steal the "ends" sign
I honestly did not realize this until you said it. I thought it was a reference to kneeling at his feet? I guess now I'm not sure
San Francisco has a lot of stops just 500 feet apart
Local businesses seeing development as a good thing? Couldn't be SF
This is some crackpot thinking. There is no mechanism by which strictly increasing the number of units on the market would result in higher rents.
Who are you, an economics professor? Who are you to say that all of human research into housing economics is wrong?
This is not true, you are either ignorant or don't read the research. I advise you correct yourself and stop adding to the misinformation. I would like to have more affordable options for apartment living in this state and people like you are in my way.
They're wealthier than I am, anyone who owns their home in California is wealthy to me
respecting the wealthiest homeowners' benefit, yeah maybe
The tracks in Utah parallel to Interstate 80 seem to be perfectly straight for over 42 miles as well
