“Just do it, and stop the crap.” 💥🔥
You can see why gas giants are worried. When the guy who wrote the book on Australian tax reform calls for a 25% gas export tax this bluntly, it would be gross negligence for the government to ignore it.

Thank you, Ken Henry. #auspol

So sad. A big part of my day listening to James on afternoons. No one comes close to his genius. Thoughts with his family and friends

The Point Live: Business and gas companies have their say on gas tax proposals. Representatives from the Business Council, Shell and ConocoPhillips are among those fronting the gas tax senate inquiry today, while the health minister lays out proposed changes to the NDIS.

ATO asked to comment on the line from 2019 that oil and gas were "systemic non-payers of tax".

The ATO repeats the line that oil and gas were among the small number of firms that they said in 2019 were "systemic non payers"

So yeah. They said it. Fact check that, Shell Oil

David Pocock beside himself as Shell’s Cecile Wake insists she doesn’t know Shell’s revenue, or how much gas they export, while she fronts an inquiry on Gas Exports.

On the other hand, no one ever lost money by telling billionaires what they want to hear. The airwaves are full of the oligarchs' minions, reciting their creeds as if these were some kind of arcane truth they've stumbled across. Almost every political conversation is dominated by these elite lies.

Funny thing considering every powerpoint close enough to an EV is a potential charger!!

Agree fuel & petrol stations seem weird and dirty now.
I also only use a powerpoint to charge at home. Standard 10 amp for 2 years then upgraded to a 15amp caravan powerpoint. All I ever need.
Will you be able to plug into a powerpoint at home? You maybe able to access cheap EV charging rates?

4.5 years of owning an EV. 90% charged from solar and only used fast DC charging a dozen times on road trips. The rest of the time on road trips was at overnight accommodation, sometime for free.
Best car I've ever driven. So fun to drive. The ABC piece is a disgrace

The AI rollout is an incredible test case for the power of capital to overrule everything in its way. An overwhelmingly stupid, obscenely polluting, and wildly dangerous set of technologies are being brute-forced into every part of our lives because money says so.

This lobby barely blinks when Trump threatens genocide, but is in meltdown when Bowen talks wind and solar This lobby has no issue with Trump's wild threats, but it is demanding regime change in Australia's energy ministry on account of its support for wind, solar and EVs.

Someone could write a comparison of the attacks on ALP‘s Chris Bowen and those on UK Labour’s Ed Miliband.

To;dr - Same Murdoch stenographers, same smears and lies…

6 things Australia should do to tackle the energy crisis rather than just building bigger fuel reserves The government’s response to the fuel crisis has been to reassure us normality will resume. Amid global uncertainty, that’s not enough.

Here's what the smart people say we should do about fuel security......ELECTRIFICATION!

In the middle of a fossil fuel crisis, it’s time to shout the clean energy message loud and clear | Zoe Daniel The case for renewables is clear. Every extra EV on an Australian road is litres of petrol saved, every home battery means less gas used and a more resilient electricity grid

‘Can’t be trusted’: Reckless, improper conduct should rule former top official out for life He once headed a mega-department but his secret dealings with a lobbyist and Liberal Party powerbroker breached many rules, an inquiry has found.

Yeah, sure, you can't trust him, but that's not enough to stop him being the go-to man for quotes on any security/border/whatever you need for ABC and 9 newspapers.

John Lyons has slammed Donald Trump’s nonsense claim that the Strait of Hormuz will “naturally” reopen.
“Surely the logic of that is strange.”
“The Americans haven’t been able to reopen it by sheer force along with Israel.”

I still don't understand why if they are testing the whole metro from Tallawong to Sydenham and onto the new section to Bankstown, why they can't take passengers from Tallawong to Sydenham? Even if they don't open one carriage if they need it for testing equipment? Mental

The ambassador decides that The Big Lie is the best approach:

Says Israel respects “real journalists”, and has “never targeted” them. All “so-called journalists” who Israel has killed are just “Hamas or Hezbollah terrorists” in disguise.

Any real journalist at the #NPC should have walked out.

Outrageous that an artist in Australia, who makes a living from his creative output, can be threatened with arrest and imprisonment for using a phrase with - at best - contested meaning.
This is normal under authoritarian regimes.
