Well, I’m biased because I first saw it when I was very young and it traumatized me because the scarecrows were so scary, at least to kid me, especially McGoohan’s scarecrow, which I remembered clearly. By the time I watched it again as an adult I was a huge McGoohan fan and he’s great in it.
I watched it on YouTube fairly recently
I’m trying to imagine Trump doing this and I thought I had a pretty good imagination, but it’s not good enough
For $2 trillion the federal government could subsidize a free bare-bones electric car for every household in the United States. I would run on that promise, if I were the 2028 Dem presidential candidate.
Wait! This is real news!
If there were no such thing as sonic booms, this would be great. In the actual phenomenal world, not so much.
A roadrunner is up on a patio table getting mealworms from a white ceramic bowl. The bird is facing the camera.
A roadrunner seen from behind as it stands on top of a blue metal tube fence. The bird is looking to the left and we see its beak is holding three or four large mealworms that the bird is probably taking back to a mate of baby birds on a nest. The bird is about to fly off of the fence and down a slope.
Bird on a mission! He was only here a couple minutes, I’m not sure I saw him eat any snacks but he is getting better at packing the beak!!
1- on the patio at the buffet
2- that beak 🤯😂 good job, Ravi 👍
On the fence for a few seconds and zoom

the only picture you'll ever need when explaining "sea lions are what happened when bears decided they wanted to play in the ocean as a full time job"
Today I turn 89. I’ve seen this country at its best and its worst, and I know how much community matters. For my birthday, I’m asking you to stand with PFLAG and support the work that’s helped so many in the LGBTQ+ community, including me. give.pflag.org/page/95493/d...
Marie Skłodowska-Curie and Irène Joliot-Curie in 1925: an extraordinary mother-daughter team of scientists.
Marie received two Nobel Prizes: Physics in 1903 and Chemistry in 1911; Irène received a Nobel in Chemistry in 1935.

Doing some leisurely tidying up in the yard this morning, thinking how one person‘s aesthetic sense of benign neglect is another person’s incontrovertible evidence of scary mental illness
“Annette showed an interest in science from an early age, removing the heads from dolls to check what was inside, playing with her chemistry set & causing some hilarity at home when, as a very clumsy 12-year-old, she declared she wanted to be a brain surgeon.”🧪
A lot of black humor in this passage, but let's call out the idea that what Congress intended matters
I thought we weren't doing legislative history anymore, I thought statutes have no intention other than what was reduced to text
Kathy in a leather jacket looking fierce
Happy birthday, Kathy Acker, a great writer and a lovely person. We saw a press screening of Cronenberg's Crash and Fire Walk With Me on opening night. In both cases, we were the only ones smiling at the end, laughing at the waves of movie hate all around us. Love you, Kathy.

Those last two words warmed my heart
Of all the shitty little pigs who stained our country’s amazing tradition of non-violent transfer of power, he’s the shittiest, the little-est and the piggiest. Disbarment is too good for that jerk. In any other country in any other period of history he would have been sent squealing to the gallows.
You had me at “combine meat and sugars”
The Wetland Project has been my favorite alternate-reality radio experience since it began. Since it only happens once a year, you can’t become accustomed to it. Close your eyes and be washed over by the sonic reality of an isolated bog on Saturna Island!
The Wetland Project, which I just posted about, is something very near and dear to my heart. I’d deeply appreciate you reskeeting that post. Thank you.
Fucking hell, no no no.
This is the way

I would quite enjoy showing progressively scarier things to Elon Musk. And I would be happy to let others, particularly my favorite horror authors, take turns at it.
Don't expose your brain to generative AI. It's incredibly harmful, according to new studies out this year. Overuse of smart phones and social media has a reversible effect if you go cold-turkey, but generative AI appears to have longer-term effects. Colonizing your brain to stoopid.
Just realized that THE MATRIX (1999) has been around longer as of today than THE WIZARD OF OZ (1939) had been when I first saw it
My first goth girl
It’s a great novel. Go read it.
