1000% I think there should absolutely be more restrictions in place for social media because it really did mess me up and I’m paying for it now, but so much of the world is online that you’re essentially cutting them off from their friends/communities too 😕

The threat of a shooting was literally the first thing I thought of. But thats so interesting that students aren’t as upset as expected. I kinda see both sides of the arguments for a social media ban and school restrictions, but it’s so complex that I feel like I need to see it in action first? Idk

MA just passed a bill restricting phones during the school day for kids under 14 and I don’t know how to feel about it 🧐 I haven’t read the fine print yet, but I’m curious if others have thoughts!!!

Oh man, the unpaid teaching hrs are the worst. But if you’re going into teaching there are def independent scholarships out there, maybe even locally. Also the TEACH grant. You have probs already looked into these, but any little amount helps. The decision is tough tho

get a scholarship + hourly income to earn their entire award. Diff schools have diff programs, but maybe that’s something you can look into for some financial relief? I was in my M.Ed from 2019-2021 but I still work in HE and it certainly is feeling pretty draining not being able to help more

Congrats on your acceptance! Do you know if the schools you got into offer any graduate fellowships or if there are other ways to work on campus to receive tuition remission? I got through my masters program for free because I worked as a grad asst, but at my current university grad fellows only -
