This is an extraordinary story they deserves much more airtime. Shocking in so many ways. Share widely.
Send him to Moscow.
And it was very close, but as both sides had nuclear weapons the escalation the risk then was a retaliatory spiral.
Harder to see that happening this week even if Trump and Hesgeth decided to use a nuclear weapon for a few social media likes.
The collapse of the Soviet Union and it's European empire is the big one for me (born 1976). Although I can remember the Falklands, Brighton bomb, Chernobyl, US bombing Libya with a bit less context.
I hope all those people who said the US had done no planning for war in Iran will now apologise. www.ft.com/content/744e...
Similarly Circle Line is 26 stops so half at each then a point of red diesel to finish. We were old enough to need to take a day off work for it too.
No one has ever not-cared harder than Matt this week.
I've not had a good footballing week, being an Ipswich fan and being at Wembley last night....
Football brings people together, tell that to the Southampton fans who had to endure his mismanagement.
Yes, he has some questions to answer apparently.
Yes, the firewall is down now and lots of new contacts made with journalists. Definitely more to come out, hopefully it keeps the national attention up so he has to go.
What a prick he is proving to be.
Not really, he’s incapable of that because he’s a narcissistic prick.
On your initial point though, yes, without Qatari or Russian helium, Europe may have a problem.
Trucking some across the Arabian desert and shipping it from there isn't exactly viable.
Clearly I missed something on the bulk stuff but, at one point, I had to know more about helium iso-containers than I ever needed to!
Yes, like any other iso-container they have to be on the top so they can be chucked overboard if necessary and the gas can boil off. Helium containers have a liquid nitrogen tank around them.
Unless there's been some major change in the last decade it's normally carried in 40 foot iso-containers, they can go on a standard container ship.
The other thing not mentioned is that before Qatar Europe's main source was Orenburg, Russia. That was along way by road in better times.
Apparently being pissed off. As are the other club sponsors.
Maybe not here but there are other questions ongoing.
There was always a risk with that ego but, in general, he had just about manged to keep it under control. The lack of owning up to mistakes in the past was a warning sign but the arrogance this week is nothing short of hubris.
I wonder whether this meets the threshold for gross misconduct?
Regardless of any payout he needs to be gone and soon.
Well, there isn't any way that Mark Ashton services at #itfc now. There's a certain irony though to his being brought down by his own colossal self-regard.
Politics and football don’t mix? Tell that to Ipswich’s players, who are not happy about Farage’s visit. What a mess, and many tough questions still to answer: www.theguardian.com/football/202...
I always think it's good to see more football on Bluesky, not enjoying the mentions of my club this week though.
Thanks though Ian, think this is right and aligns with the broad sentiments of much of the fanbase.
Yep, this is worse than incompetence and very many Town fans - as well as sponsors - are angry and upset about the initial visit and the inadequate response.
Well, I hope we did but it's looking increasingly likely that it's more than just naivety.
Yes, I'm quite pleased to see both the breadth and volume of reaction to this amongst fans.
It's, at very best, an extraordinary naivety from the club but it looks much worse at the moment. Not helped by a reluctance to admit any fault.
I'm absolutely furious and glad to see that goes for a large part of the fanbase. At the very best it's a degree of naivety that should see senior people sacked but it looks worse than that.
