Migration is part of what makes this country great.
We're not an island of strangers - we're an island of neighbours.
The Green Party will always support fair & managed migration.
Reacting to Labour's devastating loss to the Green Party in Gorton and Denton, Keir Starmer claims that only Labour can unite communities. I agree. He convinced Muslims to vote for a white working class woman representing a party led by a gay Jewish man.
Does anyone recall who said, "If you don't like the changes that we've made, I say the door is open and you can leave"? Could it be posible that this sentiment is somehow linked with Labour's catastrophic loss? If only there were some adults in the room who could explain this baffling mystery.
If Labour wants to win back Green voters after Gorton & Denton, maybe it should have… greener policies?
Polling by @moreincommonuk.bsky.social finds nature ranks highly as a priority for Labour defectors
Stop bashing newts & bats; increase access to nature 🐸🦇🌳

The Green Party didn't just win in Gorton & Denton, they beat Reform and Labour into a distant second and third - congratulations Greens!
So glad a debate is finally happening. This goes to the heart of the security of our democratic system. I’ve taken part in court cases against successive governments for their failure to investigate hostile state interference in UK elections - ministers’ lack of curiosity is truly shocking 👇
Over 300,000 children already living in the UK could face 5–10 extra years before they can settle permanently.
Changing the rules mid-journey will likely increase child poverty. Latest from us 🔗 www.ippr.org/articles/far-from-settled-the-governments-earned-settlement-consultation
BREAKING: Morgan McSweeney resigns.
GOOD! 🙌
Since #bbclaurak is trending, let’s remind ourselves that ONE MONTH ago, the BBC invited Mandelson on for a soft-ball interview on her show. While HIS CLIENT , Palantir’s Louis Moseley appeared as a pundit
Both, as I wrote at time, were ‘abject failures of journalism’

SHOCKING FACT: If you earned £18,000 a day from when Jesus was born to the present day, you STILL would not make as much as Shell did in profits last year
Frosty white dusted fields, distant hills with an orange glow fading to wedgewood blue in the sky.
Happy New Year to all starting back to school or work today! A crisp -7 Celsius in the Shire this morning made for a chilly but beautiful start.
Under its current chair, Ofcom has repeatedly refused to apply its rules to GB News, enabling the channel to pump out increasingly toxic & dangerous messages.
Ofcom is accountable to Parliament. It's time for MPs to investigate what’s gone wrong, and how things have been allowed to get this bad.

Once every 20 years or so, the director-general of the BBC is forced to resign for being insufficiently rightwing. Alastair Milne in 1987. Greg Dyke in 2004. Tim Davie in 2025. The great irony is that the BBC was in all cases profoundly biased towards established power. But just not biased enough …
A few sheep in a mist covered grassy field with the twisted shapes of a few bare old orchard and hedge trees. A wooded hill hangs above the mist with a blue sky and gleaming white clouds above.
The Shire looking particularly beautiful this morning. ‘The foxes are making coffee’ as my girls now describe low lying mist.
History repeats. That’s why in Europe we have the ECHR. 🇪🇺
A view of the distant Malvern hills, under a blue sky, with mist shrouded fields in the middle distance. The fluffy heads of ‘old man’s beard’ cover the hedge in the foreground.
The Shire, shrouded in mist this morning.

Nice to see this buzzing about #Blackhousewood last week. Sorry not to get a photo in flight but nice to get one for identification! @WorcsWT
Labour is handing this country on a silver platter to Reform. People do not vote Labour because they hate immigrants and want Reform-lite. They vote Labour because they want it to make a positive difference to their lives.

That’s wonderful, hadn’t seen it before. Also love this and not sure how Marion Montgomery kept a straight face towards the end.
