Sorry!
Just listened on BBC Sounds. Incredible radio.
Thanks for listening!
A cover of Victoria Amelina's book 'Looking at women, looking at war'
Viktoria Amelina was a Ukrainian writer who documented Russian war crimes - until she became a victim of one of them. A Russian missile killed her in 2023. Her unfinished book hits the stores today, just as the world is about to turn a blind eye to Russian war crimes and force a bad deal on Ukraine
Exactly! Timur’s voice recordings are a mash-up drawn from our phone conversations and his sonic diaries from Kyiv today. He does write beautifully, in flawless English! - but we only included two very short pieces from his war journal…
Thank you! 🙏📻
This is an extraordinary audio feature by Producer @cicelyfell.bsky.social with location recordings and music by Timur Dzhafarov (John Object) in Ukraine. A carefully related experience of sound and war - discordant, uncomfortable, beautiful, terrifying and ongoing.

Couldn’t be prouder to share this documentary, made entirely with the incredible recordings, music and unfailingly generous heart of Ukrainian musician-soldier Timur Dzhafarov. Thanks to all at Falling Tree for their thoughtful listening and guidance.
This Sunday on BBC Radio 3’s Between the Ears - listen to ‘East Piano’
The frontline sonic journal of Ukrainian musician-soldier, Timur Dzhafarov (Aka John Object)
