As far as arc goes you shoud both read the manga and watch the anime (read Getter Robo, G, Go and shin first), with the anime expanding on the manga with expanded sences, new sences that better tie moments from the manga together and a anime original sub-plot

Getter robo needs a manga accurate adaption that covers the story from start to finish

And now Getter Robo Arc as well as the Getter Robo saga itself is completed
