Young refuseniks burn their IOF draft papers in the middle of Tel Aviv

They refuse to serve in the Israeli Occupation Forces, and are willing to go to military jail for their position. The new generation of refuseniks is supported by the older, many of them spent months in jail already

I recently heard about a teacher who instead of
trying to circumvent students using ai, which is
impossible, she made assignments by going "ask
ChatGPT to write a report on this subject, and
then research how and why it's wrong".
Not only did the students discover that chatGPT
is extremely wrong a lot of the time, it also lead
them to realize that they should not use it as a
primary source.

This is a much more productive way to get people to stop using AI.

excerpt from NYT daily email:

"How is it that the N.Y.T. missed the popularity of Zohran Mamdani? It is surprising given that he won such a large victory.

— Elizabeth Myers, Scottsville, N.Y.

From Dean Chang, the editor running New York political coverage:

May I suggest a different takeaway?

We started paying attention to him well before his campaign launch in October, meeting with him months earlier to discuss his candidacy. In December, we detailed his plan to open city-owned grocery stores. In January, we wrote how left-leaning political groups were looking to identify the candidate to coalesce behind, and noted that Mamdani had the most momentum. In March, we called him the “standard-bearer for progressive Democrats,” and explained his ascension in the polls and in fund-raising."

Elizabeth Myers, Scottsville, NY: wow NYT, you really biffed that primary. what gives?

NYT: excuse me, how dare you contradict my lived experience

Jim Walden wants a gentleman's pact among the CuomoAdamSliWalden, but but with a group of backstabbers like this, only a gentleman's duel at 20 paces is in fact enforceable

What Zohran Mamdani needs is a Sunday public access tv program where he goes around the city expropriating private properties for public benefit.

Watching this was thrilling—an independent outlet reporting with heart and humor on a rare hopeful moment. Let’s fucking go, Mayor Mamdani!

Imagine using this one wild and precious life to be a cop. Or to enforce hierarchies of any kind, really.

DON’T STOP TALKING ABOUT PALESTINE

DON’T STOP TALKING ABOUT PALESTINE

13,000 Palestinians are dead. 1.7 million displaced. There is no rationale, no defense, no angle or argument, historical or contemporary, that makes this slaughter acceptable. There is no justification, and there shall be no forgiveness for America’s complicity and material aid in this horror.

so evidently a 5mg edible is only enough for me to think the yellowing leaves of a topiary behind the bus stop is actually Big Bird standing behind me?

but only until I double check. I still have too much reality here.
