OMG and that reminds me - I highly recommend this great book called 'Vincent and Theo' by Deborah Heiligman. It's a biography based on all the letters they exchanged. I listened to the audiobook and cried SO MUCH. 😭 Their bond was really something special.

Also I don't think it's embarrassing to compare to Van Gogh because he was just an artist trying his best (and often failing lol) like any of us. There's a lot of beautiful wisdom in his story especially with regards to how his support network helped him.

Anyways, I could ramble on and on but just wanna say that I adore your work. It’s been such a joy seeing you flourish and I hope you find that flame because your art is a bright spot on my feed!

But then how to feel the waves of life for our art without being totally swept away... 🤔 I’m still working on it lol! I think everyone’s approach is different. But maybe like how actors have “method acting”, “traditional style”, etc, there’s similar ways we visual artists can craft a process.

So real. I’ve grappled with it too. I think artists make their best work when they’re supported. Comedian Hannah Gadsby talked about this with Van Gogh because people often emphasize his mental illness but Gadsby made the point that we have his work today because of his loving brother's support!
