The Sakura Blossom Festival Event has started and the Ingress scanner is filled with falling cherry blossom petals and a Cherry Tree!
If you don't like this visual change you are able to return to the normal Scanner by heading to the settings and unchecking the box at the very bottom.

With the first regions of the world now hitting April 8th, the hunt (delayed by a day) for the Orion Tokens has begun! New for this season is that the Tokens from the Daily Bounties do not replace any existing rewards but are rather added on top of them.

The Enlightened have slightly widened their lead over the Resistance with 1467.4 points (43.2% of available) against 1332.6 (39.2% of all), with 2 Anomaly Events to play, each awarding 300 points.
At this point, it's still too early to call: the Resistance remains very much in contention.

Niantic Spatial has released an Incident Report for the network failure last week during which players were not able to log into the Ingress app for several hours. This report, while written in an "in-universe" style, does seem to be an honest post mortem about the blackout!

A workaround until this is fixed is to use the "Enter" button on your phones keyboard instead of the OK button that most people normally press. If you have issues with this workaround, try installing a different Keyboard from Google Play such as SwiftKey.
With the Ingress 3.1.2 update that was released in the middle of December Agents on Android have reported that the Portal Nomination flow is broken. Specifically, once you have entered the Portal Title and press OK, the title automatically clears up and doesn't save.

Niantic announced a new Campaign that will run from December 16th to February 5th, 2026: Operation Polaris!
The Campaigns will be based around completing Daily Bounties, and will award a tiered medal, its tier increasing after each of the three Assignments.
