@bsky.app's discover algorithm over-reacts to novelty to the extent it can make the feed unusable. On the other hand, now that the chiefs/eagles game is starting to fade out, there are worse things than a multi-day firehose of baseball and basketball posts.

That the first five committers sum to 58.2 plus their profiles speaks to why Redis reached for license change. I'm not sympathetic to that tactic or expect it to have a useful outcome, but considering contributions tends to power law, value extraction off the back of open source seems staggering.

How do you fit a 250kB dictionary in 64kB of RAM and still perform fast lookups? For reference, even with gzip -9, you can't compress this file below 85kB.

The best first line in Science & Mathematics history:
—I propose to consider the question, "Can machines think?"
Translated into English, they are telling me that something is wrong with the system for regulating the temperature of the coolant fluid which is necessary to keep all my fancy equipment operating at the proper temperature. If the system gets too cold, it is possible for the radiators sunk in the skin of the service module to freeze, and then I will have serious problems. Further, they are telling me to dig into my library and refer to Environmental Control System Malfunction Procedure 17… For some reason I cannot explain, I do not wade through Malfunction 17. It is an involved procedure, and it seems like radical surgery to me. Instead, I simply check all my switch positions and flip the one which controls the offending temperature from automatic to manual, then back to automatic again. Somehow I feel very confident about this machine, and I am not too concerned about this problem. Let's give the machine a chance to cure itself. As the quiet minutes tick by, I keep one eye on the temperature gauge as I go about my other housekeeping duties, such as dumping excess water produced by the fuel cells. By golly, everything seems to be returning to normal, and when I finally swing around into view of the earth, I am able to report, whatever the problem was, it seems to have gone away without any changing of J52 sensors or anything like that. My glycol evaporator outlet TEMP is up above fifty now, and it's quite comfortable in the cockpit.
Getting towards the end of Michael Collins’ autobiography, and this is basically him doing “Have you tried turning it off and on again?”, but alone on the far side of the moon
