Completed build of the LEGO Game Boy with The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening cartridge.
The LEGO Game Boy was an absolute joy to build. The attention to detail and mechanics really impressed, was continually surprised with how parts came together. I am kind of hooked now!

Donkey Kong Bonanza - Kazuya Takahashi & Wataru Tanaka
This game is pure joy, has had me smiling the whole way so far. It feels great to have a new 3D platformer from Nintendo.
The score is also hitting the extremely high quality the series is known for.

Pavements - Alex Ross Perry
An ambitious documentary that playfully blurs the lines between fact and fiction in hilarious and heartwarming ways. It felt very appropriate for showcasing the story of Pavement.

Don’t think I have skipped backwards so much while listening to an episode of a podcast just to rehear sections again.
Very much enjoyed the ride 👏

Even As We Speak: The Music of David Van Tieghem - David Van Tieghem
If Kenji Kawai’s score for Ghost in the Shell decided to throw a party, then it would have sounded like this joyous and lush compilation of percussionist David Van Tieghem.

Mandy - Panos Cosmatos
I don’t think I appreciated back in 2018 just what an intoxicating acid-trip into hell Mandy was. The brooding cosmic visuals and Jóhann Jóhannsson score were extremely affecting and have left me eager to make the journey again.

Blue Prince - Tonda Ros
Score - Trigg & Gusset
This week has been spent piecing together my journey towards the elusive Room 46, slowly.
Despite my slight progress, every trip has felt rewarding and the atmospheric score pairs perfectly with the lonesome exploration of Mt. Holly.

Not sure enough praise is given to Gene Hackman’s performance as a bumbling Hollywood producer in this fun and focused adaptation that absolutely flies by.

To Live and Die in L.A. - William Friedkin
This film encapsulates everything I adore about 80’s movies. A raw and frantic thriller that pairs Friedkin with the masterful compositions of Robby Müller. Not to mention a totally infectious score from Wang Chung.

Highly recommend Andrea Arnold’s slice of Southeast England ‘Bird’ and ‘Fish Tank’. Also: ‘First Cow’, ‘La Chimera’, ‘Passages’, ‘Perfect Days’, ‘Shiva Baby’ and ‘Revenge’ are all worth adding if you haven’t seen elsewhere.
