What the hell is a 'girly job?' I mean seriously, what does that even mean?
Yeah... it's going to be pretty miserable. They're expecting a lighter than average hurricane season, which is good for structures and homes, not so good for the crops, since it's often our only real source of moisture in the latter season. Going to be a rough year for plants.
A drought map of the Southeastern US (including Alabama, Georgia, SC, NC, and the bottom sliver of Virginia).
A drought legend indicating levels of drought. According to the legend, most of the Southeastern states are in severe to exceptional drought status.
Ahhh... always grand news...
You know it, girl.
A picture of the Montgomery-Ramsay Zircon Hexpetal Studs over a background of the blue-green needles on a Cedrus deodara 'Karl Fuchs.' You can see the bright blue new foliage pushing out over the older, green foliage, mirroring the colour combinations in a blue zircon nicely. At the bottom is the Montgomery-Ramsay logo.
I totally didn't wander out into the garden just to see if I could find a conifer in the right shade of blue to match these Zircon Hexpetal Studs. Totally didn't...
(Okay. Maybe a little. But my Karl Fuchs is looking so nice this time of year!)
Your brief moment of zen: Two Bands.
I won't say Two Bands is mom's favourite. But he's up there. He looks so much like his sister. Before she died, he was my brave boy -- often spending time sleeping next to me and exploring new things. Since her death, he's changed. But we still love him dearly.
I kind of like it. Since I know that pine pollen is too large to cause an allergy response, I just sort of appreciate it for its ethereal beauty.
Gorgeous, Tisha! Really striking with the greys.
Original seascape oil painting by Tisha Mark, "Respite" oil on stretched linen canvas, 14"x11" (2026). This loosely painted seascape painting is monochromatic (black & white) and vertically oriented. It has a sea on the left meeting a shore on the right. There is much texture throughout the painting, and there are moody cloud formations in the sky.
Continuing to work with Payne's gray and titanium white, using value and texture to express how I'm feeling about a particular moment.

A few pics from the garden.
A large orange cat stares out the window.
Baby boy.
This boy has been my baby since I could just about hold him in the palm of my hand, back in September 2024. He was the first of the Marmalades to approach me, and he claimed me as his own. Now he's a HUGE boy, but still my baby.
and Big Tiger who will follow Little Tiger on his journey but stop just long enough to rub against my leg and say hello as he thunders through the kitchen. These kids were born here in the garden. Grew up there. And now they're our little house gremlins, and I love them so much.
I can't express how much I adore our formerly feral boys... Joe with his constant hisses that turn into "PET ME!" hisses. Two Bands as he hides when I approach, thinking I can't see him. Little Tiger, as he heads forth on his adventures...
A screenshot from a security camera of a cat lounging on a cat tree in front of a window, and another stepping down from the cat tree onto a tall scratch post next to the cat tree.
At some point overnight, the kittens figured out their new cat tree, so I've been watching them on one of the pet cams this morning, climbing about, and lounging on it. They love to be able to look out the windows, and we wanted to make it a little easier on them.

Happy Birthday, Aimee! Hope you have a lovely birthday week!
My wife got an email and a call from this company's bot today. The CEO has given the bot his last name, and named it 'Ava' (the bot in Ex Machina). It doesn't QUITE sound right. Or understand things. And it sounds like an annoyed employee with a lot of delays.
Lot to unpack there...
Hello lovely people. Just a heads up, if you're looking to order a copy of Tiny Moments of Joy for Mothers Day, now would probably be the time to start thinking about itππͺ»πΈπ

Me, too. It's been an ordeal getting all four of the younger sisters into the house (it feels like their aunts were so much easier, despite it also being a sleepless week of stress), but I'm glad they're inside, safe, and can relax a bit before we start pestering them to socialise.
Agent J is home. The woman handing her off to me at the clinic said she was "just about perfect. " Sweet. Super cute. Just like her sisters (although, to be fair, Orion's pretty spicy). Now she gets to relax and hide and heal.
No. We've got Tom, Socks, orange boi, and possibly Sayah out there having another litter of kittens (if we're 'lucky' and she's not dead).
But this was all the girls we could get to (all Tom's kids). And all the easier to socialise ones we hope to rehab and get into homes.
Agent J is through her procedure and recovering. FIV and FeLV tests negative (like her sisters). No injuries shown, so the assumption is that her limp was a soft tissue injury that is healing. She'll be ready to come home at 4pm.
Itβs good. Sheβs in for a spay and some tests, and to check out her limp. Then tonight, we hope, she can go back home to her sisters and start to move past this as we begin their rehab and socialisation.
