🕯️🇺🇦 Drone operator, artist and journalist Lana "Sati" Chornohorska died at the front
Lana died on January 1 in the Southern direction as a result of being hit by an enemy drone.
Fellow soldiers remember Lana as a principled, bright and very loyal person who lived by business and was always there.
It's true then. It's true now.
People in the position of economic power, burn political democracy or make it so convoluted, so they can continue to exploit and retain their privilege in the system.
And it's hard, when you have no wealth, to fight back - so the process continues.
great use of the materials in the lab!

Well, you can finally cross “I’ve seen a handcuffed, inflatable penis” off your bucket list
Well that will certainly change my husband's whisky choice. Crown Royal has been his go-to for years. I'm more of a wine person but I do make homemade Bailey's with his Crown Royal. We will be finding a new Canadian option.

Ford cut $42M from wildfire response — now Ontario’s calling in the military as 3.7M hectares burn.
This is what happens when leaders betray public trust.
CBC tracks the consequences. That’s why they want it gone.
Defend the CBC.

I quite like when cities retain some of the industrial heritage when redeveloping former industrial areas. This is the 300-ton Atlas Crane in the Toronto Portlands. One of the last of its kind on the Great Lakes, it’s being restored and incorporated into the new Biidaasige Park on Ookwemin Miniseng.
as we keep getting reports like this, it's still unclear how many Americans are affected because DHS has not provided numbers on citizens detained by immigration authorities and isn't answering Congressional inquiries about them www.propublica.org/article/more...
The US government is the single largest employer of veterans, people who've served their country at their own peril.
Some of these people are among those cast aside in the reductions in force layoffs.
An important but gut-wrenching read. www.statnews.com/2025/04/17/f...
And HEREIN lies the concern:
If the Trump Administration can do this to Kilmar Abrego Garcia, what makes you think they won't do it to American citizens?
Van Hollen says that he asked the VP of El Salvador why his government continues to hold Abrego Garcia even though he’s not charged with any crime and there’s no evidence that he’s MS-13.
“His answer was that the Trump administration is paying the government of El Salvador to keep him at CECOT”
Finally got around to watching this and hoo boy is it timely, accurate, and terrifying
"When my country was threatened by the government of the United States… I felt like I had to do something. I had to react.”
"My role as an artist is to communicate…”
Seems this college that hired an “artist in residence” (& didn’t pay him) doesn’t know what art is.

Congrats to Christopher Griffin for having the integrity to stand up for his craft.
This is a prime example that artists, architects, engineers and others can follow. Have integrity and the moral fortitude to stand by your beliefs.

A reminder that if the government can send migrants to a prison camp without any due process, it can send U.S. citizens there, too. I know because this happened to me and my family in 1942.
