Seven minds wrote a paper on seven questions on mind perception. Why seven you ask? Well this is not a complete list, they merely reflect questions that we have been thinking and working on over the last couple of years. This was so fun writing with the team. A real collaborative piece!

Mind perception across agents and species. Example of an interactive setup from our lab that tests mind perception across agents and species using a mobile neuroimaging setup. A human participant engages in an interaction with another human, AI chatbot, or a Border Collie dog (Canis familiaris). Photographs by Dorka Boda. All individuals gave permission for publication of the photographs.

Seeing a mind isn’t just about looks. From humans to robots, this study explores how we recognize thinking & feeling, why context matters, and why beliefs shape judgment.🧠 #OpenAccess doi.org/10.1163/1568...

A fun new preprint with the 🌟 team. We discuss 7 questions on mind perception we have been thinking and working on in the last years and it also features a picture of a dog! I mean what's more to like?

The roommate Alexa preprint is live! Fantastic work by Aline. In this beast of a paper (3 experiments, mixed methods) we explore how long-term interactions with DVAs impact trust and roles within households. One of the first results of the @erc.europa.eu F-AI-MILY project!

New preprint with @fabioladiana.bsky.social and Mariska Kret and collaborators reporting on two studies that explore the question if AI can trust us. How do patterns of dishonesty fluctuate across agents and pupil size in Japanese and European samples? Amazing work by @fabioladiana.bsky.social!

Social Dynamics 2025 is a workshop on ‘Individual, dyadic, and group dynamics inside and outside the lab’. The goal of the workshop is to discuss recent insights of the (neuro-) science of individual, dyadic and group dynamics inside and outside the lab (e.g., at schools and at home).

Experimentology cover: title and curves for distributions.

Experimentology is out today!!! A group of us wrote a free online textbook for experimental methods, available at experimentology.io - the idea was to integrate open science into all aspects of the experimental workflow from planning to design, analysis, and writing.

So normally I go to gigs at TivoliVredenburg, but yesterday I was standing on stage at the sold out Social Animal event at TivoliVredenburg organised by KLI and ASPO. I really felt like a rockstar. 🤟🤟🤟 Great evening with super cool talks and people. If you can, do visit it next year!
