From recollection, some of us were old enough to drink and some were not.

I was old enough and I think it might show.

A picture of me in a black tux and white bow tie with a flower button hole. I am stood next to a classic car, ready for my prom in 2005!

School proms!

Did you have one? How much did you spend?
Chatting about it on BBC Breakfast tomorrow and want your thoughts and pics!

Key messages from the Chancellor:

⛽️No to cuts to fuel duty/petrol VAT - risks higher inflation/rates/taxes.
⚡️Energy support would be targeted based on household income.
🍂Autumn more likely for any support, even if the energy price cap rises in July.

Who will get targeted energy bills support, if it's needed?

When will that be?

Will drivers get any immediate relief at the pumps?

My chat with the Chancellor, Rachel Reeves, on BBC Breakfast tomorrow from 0600.

Found in the local free library: a book of French food and drink published the year I was born and written by the then BBC Breakfast Time chef!

Happen to be in France for Sidaction, an annual fundraiser (since 1994) for AIDS causes.

Quite remarkable to see all the presenters on so many channels (around 20 TV and radio stations) wearing red ribbons.

It is burnt on screen too to direct people to donate.

525,600 minutes.

Can't believe it's been a year already.

"How do you measure the life of a woman or man?" I've thought a lot about this lyric the past 12 months.

As the song says, how about we measure a year in love.

If so, so much of it.

That was a definite career highlight! For me, if not for the rest of the team 🤣

June 2024, Manchester: "Today we can lay a new foundation of stability."

Less than two years later: is the PM's own job stable?

Interested to find out on BBC Breakfast if the Westminster drama is even on the radar of people here.

Oh and I know we're not doing the 2016 throwbacks any more, but this was actually my first appearance on screen.

The less said about this the better. I'm sure Nina Warhurst agrees.

I'm going to be setting the alarms a bit more regularly for a few weeks.

I wish Mum were here to see it, but she got to sit on the sofa and I got to tell her that Mike Bushell and Carol Kirkwood were even lovelier in real life.

Ten years and counting!

It is a privilege to, years later, pop up on the show now and then.

A shaky post-Eurovision cameo led to some rambly live slots from the Isle of Wight.

And now, I sometimes get to follow in Declan Curry’s footsteps.

My fave part of the office is a picture of Jeremy Bowen and Sophie Raworth.

I grew up without a TV, but when we could finally afford one I became obsessed with the box.

I vividly remember getting up early in Oct 2000 to see the launch of BBC Breakfast.

Ten years of day shifts, night shifts, early shifts, planning shifts, producer shifts, reporter shifts, presenter shifts.

I can't say it hasn't been varied.

I've written an interview brief for a former US President but I've also held umbrellas and cleaned rugs.

Ten years and counting. A (brief-ish) personal thread.

Last week marked my ten-year BBC work anniversary.

As baby-faced and hairier-faced Peters of the past suggest: it was always a dream to work here. I still pinch myself on a very regular basis.

So many fabulous messages from our amazing BBC Breakfast viewers!

Lots of food I want to try, or wish I'd been around for!

Number one? Gail mentioned what she calls "a 1970s family favourite: Kunzle Showboats. They were a real treat! Totally melt in the month!"

...however, the eagle-eyed among you will have noticed Charlie and Naga didn't indulge...

"That's why you're wrong."

I felt a bit bad being so brutal to our Naga on BBC Breakfast this week, but some things - like butterscotch Angel Delight - are worth defending.
