What merit do either of these tools have? Neither trump nor hegseth could hack it as scouts. They have no integrity. Scouting has never been a meritocracy.

It’s a little nutty how still so much works on sending files places and reprocessing data.

The other sailors gave him so much crap for it, “why not apocalypse now?! Not this cartoon!” He said every showing was packed and the sailors laughed so hard they’d have tears in their eyes.

My dad would sometimes share some of his time in the Navy during the Vietnam war. My favorite was his story about how he was the projectionist on his ship. He would pickup a movie when at their home port and at one point picked up The Jungle Book.

I love working with my hands. It also saves money. Did transmission and differential service on my Jeep, approximately $1000 less than the dealer would have charged just for the transmission service.

This is real. I used to read 150-200 pages an hour, now it’s hard to get enough time or focus to read like 20 pages. I’ve relied on audiobooks for the last few years and the one good thing from RTO is getting some listening time in during my commute.

I feel like there is a simpler way to do this. You can create a struct that your handlers can be methods on. This way you can inject anything your methods would need, logging, db, etc. And since your methods are handlers you can still use middleware on them. No dependencies needed.

Even using it for documenting things isn’t great. Sometimes it sets up a nice framework for the documentation, but you end up having to clean it all up anyway.

Also consider Colemak, both are focused on improving the typing experience. I enjoyed using an ortholinear format but switching back and forth from my laptop was annoying.

Rereading Douglas Coupland‘s JPod and this quote really applies: “I think the people in the year 2020 are going to be nostalgic for the sensation of feeling clueless”
