Will Mark Carney protect Ontario from rising electricity bills?
A $230B nuclear proposal is moving forward—while cheaper wind, solar + storage are ignored.

Pre privacy laws, clergy could ask hospital info desks for the stack of patient cards for a denomination. In Cobourg, the Anglican stack was always the thickest. This led me to realize that if people didn’t go to church, it was the Anglican church they didn’t go to.
In reaction to the CNN report on the "online rape academy" that gets 62 million visits per month, women are sharing the full names and last known locations of men who raped them…
Enjoy. 😎✨
With the help of the Sandy Hook families, The Onion has reached a long-awaited deal to take over InfoWars.
We've enlisted the help of @timheidecker.bsky.social, who will be InfoWars' Creative Director.
Please stand by for more.
Canadian doctors obeying a U.S. executive order that doesn’t even apply to Canada is deeply offensive to both trans people and to Canadian legal sovereignty.
I am not an expert, but it appears that none of the cancers in this study are sarcomas. My understanding is that the lethality of sarcomas can be extremely high, but research funding is extremely low. And they aren’t even a data point in this paper.
Extremely normal and fine for a company to put this in a public statement
Just a professor standing in front of BlueSky demoralized because exams my students used to get a mean of 83% on prior to 2020 are now failed in large numbers. It seems that their ability to APPLY concepts to new contexts/domains has all but disappeared.
I love these students & I am worried.
Ontarian’s pushed back against Premier Ford’s ludicrous purchase of a private jet with tax payer money. He’s now backpedaled and is trying to sell it.

"(Here in Canada) oil and gas, which is largely foreign-owned, largely U.S.-owned, aren’t doing their part. (Instead)...increasing our emissions and ...demanding that Canadian taxpayers pay the bill for cleaning up the pollution they cause and building pipelines they won’t risk their own money on.”
The bravest journalist in Canada.
After this week’s byelection results, Carney’s governing Liberals will have more unchecked power. But the party has moved away from its old progressive politics.
I know there's a daily avalanche but this should really be getting more attention.

Society is more angry at a handful of trans people competing in sports or using the bathroom than 62 million cishet men in an online rape academy.
There are more cis men visiting that rape website than there are trans people on this planet.
CNN exposes a global “online rape academy” that teaches men how to drug and rape women without detection. Over 62 million men attended in February alone.
Breaking: DOJ admits in appeals court filing that the Pentagon has begun involuntary separations. Lawyers previously told judges that no such separations had been started.

On Monday we reported on the 8 most insane fascist and antisemitic accounts JD Vance follows on X. @kylebazgo.bsky.social identified the worst of them, HowlingMutant, as Alexander Norden of NYC. He's very edgy, like posting about his sexually attraction to a pile of shoes at the Holocaust Museum.
The national media is eating up this report as justification for perpetuating the lie that universities themselves - as opposed to decades of attacks from the far right authoritarian party - are responsible for eroding trust in higher education. You can almost hear them salivating at the chance.
“Rahmstorf, who has studied the Amoc for 35 years, has said a collapse must be avoided ‘at all costs.’ ‘I argued this when we thought the chance of an Amoc shutdown was maybe 5%, and even then we were saying that risk is too high, given the massive impacts. Now it looks like it’s more than 50%.’”
Timely. But it omits a discussion of China’s ability to offer financing when they sell their capital intensive renewable tech.

You may not have yet heard that Terry Amburgey has died. He was active in EGOS and many other org studies circles and was a beloved prof at Rotman. The best. www.arbormemorial.ca/en/highland-...
I was today years old when I learned the term “drug – facilitated sexual assault”, or DFSA. I wish I didn’t live in a world where this happens. Probably more frequently than I can imagine.
What the hell is going on in Canadian media?
Why was journalist Tina Yazdani — who was dogged in her coverage of Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s government — suddenly fired from CityNews without any explanation to the public?
This is potential-major-press-freedom-story levels of concerning:
For non Catholics- Just war theory was originally posited by Aquinus and St Augustine.
Leo was the Prior General (head) of the Augustinian order. Literally the group of Catholics who center Augustine.
Leo has done the reading.
Hours after Pope Leo XIV paid public homage to St. Augustine, one of the key architects of just war theory, Vice President JD Vance questioned the pontiff's understanding of the Catholic doctrine for determining whether a war is morally justifiable.
You can't make this shit up.
