It's little stuff but it builds up you and the spaces around you. We can't do much for folks in the states, for example, but we sure as heck can make sure our own city is a place anyone and everyone can feel safe and welcome in

I feel this 😭 sometimes when the feelings are too big, it helps to focus down on the things immediately within your control. Go support a local event (like the Ice Festival!), buy some locally grown produce next time you're grocery shopping, say a kind thing to a stranger ...

The day our kid learned the word for identity (YEARS before she would come out to us), something about herself started to make sense. A new possibility of *herself* opened up. Learning about diverse identities doesn't hurt kids but it makes such difference for those who don't fit the cis-het schema
