there's a whole talk in here that i should put together but yeag it's maddening having done a PhD about digital creative tools to see everyone in the industry get it entirely wrong

it makes sense under capitalism. you can only *sell* outputs, which you need to do to survive. the process does not matter, only the content you can churn out to live.

from the academic pov this is absolutely correct

pretty much every design/creative tool on the market has advertised itself by conflating "creativity as *output*" with "creativity as *process*", which is super frustrating, especially as there are actually tools that can support creative thinking
