Literally! I mean if one of the parents of the metroidvania genres got boiled down to triple A levels of hand-holding in regards to tell you where you have to go and FORCE you that way, then that'd be a pretty dogwater way to remake this fantastic game that actually CONTRASTS that game "philosophy"

Dread is fantastic. Would be cool if nintendo wouldnt try to remove all the cool stuff, and if the game didn't crash the nanosecond you dare to think about sequence breaking outside of the game's intention

I yap about Super Metroid speedrunning for once and this is my feed (waow....based....)

Anyway sorry for giga yap, Super Metroid is my favourite game to speedrun, watch speedruns of, etc, and probably my 3rd favourite game ever. I hope they make an iteration of SM that allows you to enjoy the game as much as I do with the original!!!

- leading to you being able to make certain jumps possible or grabbing items in randomisers that require you to do like 3 frame perfect inputs in a row and winning a 50/50 coinflip because of the game's framerate (iirc, I forgot the trick because I don't play rando, I only speedrun/ran normally)

Where you can just beat the game's bosses backwards in Super Metroid lmao. I also think even sue to the graphical changes that a lot of fundamental tech gets thrown out the window, for example when Samus is in the air and looks down, her hitbox actually expands upward by the smallest amount-

I love you for the fact that you acknowledge that the "clunky" and "unwieldy" movement allows for insanely cool tech and whatnot. I am just mostly scared of a SM remake because other metroid remakes (Prime for example) completely shut down any semblance of, well, sequence breaking.

Oda CHOOSES to do this, he has done this himself (Oda as in the mangaka for OP). Difference is that OP has been running for like, ever. Stuff like JJK and CSM has insane peak potential but they can't go on forever (neither can OP, but it's set up to last way longer anyway)
