That's actually my favorite part - starting in a save room and thinking about where I'm headed, what keys/key items I might need, what I'll encounter along the way, whether I have an abundance of ammo or healing items, and what I need to pick up.

This weirdly works for classic Resident Evil games too, but maybe with a slightly adjusted ratio.
Yes the beginning is a lot, but I love the world and I think you will too after the opening hours.
I miss pre-rendered backgrounds in games. Final Fantasy had some gorgeous towns. A modern game with pre-rendered backgrounds could look incredible.
What game(s) are you currently playing? I'm playing a mix of Resident Evil games, Assassin's Creed Black Flag, and chipping away at Xenogears.
I usually ignore Clear Sky because I don't care who blocked me etc... but I did check to see if I was on the AI Haters list and I'm proud to say that I am lol.
I really enjoyed Yakuza Pirates in Hawaii last year and I wanted to try another pirate game, so I'm giving Assassin's Creed Black Flag a shot. It's been sitting in my backlog for years so I'm playing the Switch version.
I love "ducks in the pool" season.
Bomberman '94 (TurboGrafx-16, 1993)
I think they tested the limits of what people were willing to pay and found out that for most people it's not as much as they were asking. I love Gamepass, but even before grocery and gas prices shot up I had subscription fatigue and cut it out of my budget.
one of my favorite parts of the onion infowars saga is how Alex Jones lost his fucking mind when they first bought it,,,,, partly because he didn't know or understand what the onion was
Personally I'm avoiding upgrading my Pixel until I have to because I don't like how much AI comes with the new ones. Does Graphene OS sidestep that?
I don't know if my hard drive is failing or Windows 11 got a vibe coded update, but for some reason my Windows File Explorer has become pretty much useless. It freezes when I just try to open it, and I can't copy or do anything. Regular apps seem fine though.
Ducks by a pool
The ducks I've been seeing are treating our building's pool like it's their pond. It was just filled but probably not chlorinated yet because it isn't officially opened yet.
I've seen photographs of myself that I haven't related to as much as this meme.
I get that they're heavy so each quarter would be packaged separately, but why aren't they sold as a set of 4 lol?
It's a constant stressor, but at the same time I don't want to go into the job market unless I have to because it's also like the Hunger Games right now and other people need jobs more than I do. But it's such an awful feeling.
It's been a really difficult week. There was a massive wave of layoffs at work and I wasn't hit thankfully, but almost everyone I work with was. I'm very angry and sad and just trying to figure out how to move forward.
Here's something that should tickle the fancies of any old-school #TombRaider fans.
Cause while Lara Croft's original #PS1 games are iconic 3D games,
have you ever wondered what they would feel like in 2.5D?

Hello everyone! If you make Resident Evil fan art, cosplay, videos, streams, music covers, whatever, please leave links and pictures to your stuff in the replies! I'm planning a 30th anniversary video for RE just like I did five years ago! I will feature YOU in my video! 👇

I just finished my second playthrough of Requiem this morning, but I'm also playing through REmake and I'm getting close to the end of that one too. I just love this series so much.
Mallard duck on the sidewalk
There were Mallard ducks walking around in front of our building this morning.
I still have "MORTIS" burned into my brain.
I'm not a huge Linux user, but I installed Regata on an old laptop and fwiw I've been pretty happy with it. But that's an old laptop, not my daily driver.

I want to start a web development and software agency where our key differentiator is that everything is made by humans and QA'd properly so it works. Just a regular ass agency from 2016 in 2026 with stability in deliverables as our mission. Good old fashioned human UX, Design, Coding, and QA.
