screenshot of BBC Sounds online radioplayer - a black rectangle showing the information for the Essential Classics show, which is a red circle with a picture of Georgia Mann a woman with a blue top and long brown hair, and underneath information text that says "Essential Classics, The best classical morning music, Georgia Mann plays the best in classical music. Now Playing Aaron Copland Fanfare for the Common Man"
Fanfare for the Common Man is the perfect start to a working day, has filled me with purpose and confidence (no mean feat!) Might have to make it part of my daily morning ritual. Would it be blasphemous / cheesy / downright naff to make it my alarm ringtone?
The River Teme, which flows through Ludlow and Tenbury Wells before joining the River Severn in Worcester, is one of the region’s most important rivers.
Yes!
Chuckie egg is one of only 3 computer games I can remember ever playing (the others were Myst and Riven)

"Buses aren’t a statutory entitlement" - oof, as a non-driver, living in a rural area, this hit hard. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026...
Don't look in my fridge, where this is happening with mustard...
UBI is not free money, but a reduction in paperwork.
Up to 40% of people entitled to social benefits today aren't getting any because they have conditions preventing them from navigating the bureaucratic process. UBI removes that hurdle.
UBI isn't about the money, it's about being fair.
Last year, nearly 30 feminist organizations & feminist studies academic communities from the Nordic countries came together to issue a statement in support of an inclusive feminism – and called for confronting transphobia.
We were, in part, inspired by NION's statement.
We need to overwhelm the BBC with complaints about this. This is the most egregious breach of their own impartiality guidelines I can remember. They’re no longer even trying to hide it.

The thing is there are 2 very different things that get discussed regarding social distancing/lock downs, and a lot of us are still angry about how the one form spat on the other. 1/
Forgot to put out my recycling and now I'm eyeing up the wine bottles... #TheArchers
Love the way the representation of charity looks rather vampiric and shadowy
I don't know why everyone's worried about Brian's mental health - he's always been like this #TheArchers
When I talk to people my age, we’re like: “We weren’t prepared for this. We thought things would improve.” Not: “Oh my God, the world is run by Satan’s occult members.” www.theguardian.com/music/2026/a... yep pretty much
He's quite the classic posh patriarch! #ThArchers
I live on the main road into town, door onto the street, work from home, can only conclude that DPD couriers are not using GPS!!
Yes! I never get those Evri ransome notes, that made me laugh - but I do appreciate they must be maddening. My bugbear is the DPD email saying 'we knocked but you weren't in" with a photo of someone else's front door (sometimes in another town!)
And when she gets home she does all the housework, makes the dinner and packed lunches for next day, and books everyone's dental appointments too...
Going to go out on a limb here and say better Evri than dpd- round my way at least, the couriers are local folk and lovely people, whereas dpd deliveries are by couriers from out of the area & under pressure & rarely if ever deliver to the correct address
...on my way to the opticians
"The female bird conducts the orchestra. She chooses in all regards what the male birds are going to sing – that’s mind-boggling,” www.theguardian.com/environment/...
Meet James Bembridge, the Reform candidate for Westminster in next month’s local elections.
As well as this tweet, Temu Lex Luthor here, has also been quoted as saying "Most NHS nurses look like they're eating food banks out of business."
Don’t let him get his deposit back.

This is what Israel has done to Bint Jbeil, my hometown in southern Lebanon
I'm so sorry, that's crap.
Angela Rayner's housing tax story has hounded her for months now.
Meanwhile, this? There's a good chance no one will mention it again after next week.
Because the "patriotic" far-right never have to reckon with their rampant corruption and tax-dodging.
