Ewelme: Church of St. Mary the Virgin. Wonderful late Medieval Church (15thC) packed full of treasures, including the magnificent tomb of Alice de la Pole (née Chaucer, Duchess of Suffolk, d.1475) and the contemporary Chapel of St John replete with decorations that survived 2 iconoclasms.

I visited the church of St. Basil at Toller Fratrum (Dorset) today to marvel at the extraordinary late saxon font. The church was originally part of a Knights Hospitaler establishment.
