The legendary Yvonne Marie Blenkinsop’s courage came from the love of her community, for the men who risked their lives at sea and for her city of #Hull. She stood up when others remained quiet, and she refused to be ignored. #HeadscarfRevolutionaries
Christine Jensen (formerly Smallbone) MBE is remembered as a brilliant campaigner and one of the #HeadscarfRevolutionaries. Member of the British Fishermen’s Association, a founder member of STAND, and in 2000 awarded the MBE. The city of #Hull honours her memory and the lives she saved.
A statue in #Hull isn’t just a tribute to the past, it’s a reminder that ordinary people can force extraordinary change when they refuse to be ignored. The #HeadscarfRevolutionaries story has carried a mix of passion and determination that reshaped an entire industry.

and it now hangs in her office in Westminster. I’m proud that picture is now seen by MPs, visitors and staff in the very building those women’s safety demands changed the world.

Make no mistake, the statue of the #HeadscarfRevolutionaries will be all four women. They were an unstoppable team. All for one and one for all.
